What I'm hearing on Ole Miss NCAA

The Ole Miss NCAA investigation will likely result in a punishment that will be less than what we initially expected. There will be no second letter. Everything is included in the current investigation. Expect a couple of scholarships over 3 years limits in recruiting contact.

Idk why anyone expects the NCAA to actually do anything anymore. NCAA isn't what it was in the SMU days. It runs off the buddy buddy system and politics.

The list of allegations was published in the Jackson, Ms. Clarion-Ledger some time ago for all to see. They are almost all secondary violations which have already been addressed by the school. Butt cell calls, a Fellowship of Christian Athletes member giving a ride to someone, letting someone sleep in an apartment when they were homeless, not understanding terms of loaner car agreements, etc. These things occur regularly at all schools. There never has been much to see here. Let's move on to football on the field this fall.

The penalties I heard was 9 scholarships over 3 years, which would be pretty hefty.

The Ole Miss staff set up atm cards for recruits and players through a bank in Jackson. They could withdraw constant cash whenever they wanted. The NCAA has confiscated burner phones from recruits and is interviewing players.

Think it's pretty obvious Coachbutterfly is one of our fans mocking Mbutterfly or whatever that guy's name was. Think it's obvious that nobody has any clue what is going on between us and the NCAA. I'm hoping it's just a bunch of secondary violations and the Tunsil thing that we have already been punished for, but I do think we will get consequences from the David Saunders thing. Not sure what that will be, but hopefully just a loss in scholarships. I have no doubt there is some shady stuff we did with Saunders, but I would bet he did it for some other schools as well so the NCAA may figure it's best not to dig into that too much. As far as the burner phones and Saban reporting us, I highly doubt any of that is remotely true. Pretty sure there is an unwritten rule among SEC coaches that you don't rat out another school. Saban could be 100% clean(he's not), but he wouldn't risk turning in another school because I'm sure he wouldn't want people turning their attention to Bama alumni as retribution.
