Strong thread backfire

I probably just posted at a bad time. I wouldn't trade the 21-0 game against LSU for another in recent memory unless it was last year against auburn, but that team wasn't our best.

LSU deserved to be in the championship game. The teams that were in the running all shite the bed when the pressure to win was on their shoulders.

The 9-6 game was a heart breaker. Not Bamas fault the teams ahead of them could not take the pressure to just win out. If LSU had Cam Cameron on staff back then It may have been a different story.

Boring thread OK. Backfire? Gotta be trolling for that.

Honestly it's a testament to how good LSU was to have won that much without a solid QB. To beat Bama you have to play sound football AND have a QB that is either top flight, or on that particular night is playing top flight. LSU had every piece needed to win a title except a stud QB. There was no way that Jefferson or Lee had enough to put that game on their shoulders. The first game Bama was caught off guard by the option. Second time around they didn't have a genius plan parsay. The gameplan wasn't some amazing concoction that saban cooked up. It was simple and effective. If Jordan Jefferson (or Lee) can stare down the gun barrel and make good throws/decisions, LSU has as good a shot as any to win. Bama banked on Jefferson not being able to handle the pressure and he wasn't. I imagine if you were a fly on the meeting room walls in Tuscaloosa, you would have heard smart and saban tell their guys "we're gonna make JJ beat us with his arm."

It's sad because the defense played valiantly, but Jordan just couldn't get the job done.

And to the OP. LSU probably grinds out a tough game against Okie State and wears them down in the second half. Literally one team could stop LSU's run game and that was Bama.

LSU was built to stop a spread team like Okie State, and the Corndogs would have run it down their throats.

Only team that was going to beat LSU that year was Bama. If that game gets played 10 times it very well could have been a dead even series. 2011 LSU was the best BCS national champion loser. Also better than a majority of BCS champions in the BCS era.

I don't respect any gump fan that realizes how shitty AJ was until just now. If you felt he even deserved an invite to the Heisman ceremony, you need your head examined.

aj has played well in some big games against good competition. He did have all the talent in the world around him, but his play on 21-0 bowl was very very good against lsu's best defense ever.

I can think of 3 teams that won the BCS that would be better than lsu 2011. 08 Florida, whatever that good Miami team I think 01, and that USC champion team I guess. Obviously hard to judge and I am a "little" biased.

IDK man LSU was not the same team on 1/9 that it had been. OK State might have beat us.

You do realize that Bama had the best defense in over a decade right? You do realize that Okie Pokes had one of the worst defenses that year right?

We were top 10 in pass defense and #2 in total defense. It would have went worse than the WVU game did. They put up over 450 passing yards on us, but could only score 21 points at their house, while we scored 42 points against them on offense alone.

They would have lost even worse than WVU did.

People look at how we played against Bama and say we couldn't beat Okie State???? They weren't near equal. Our problem was having already did what we had to to get there, and still having to face a team we beat at their house in the regular season. You tell a team to beat the best team in a decade twice in one year, that shite will never happen. We would have been up for Okie State, our team already had the mental part of the game going against them. Add to not even reshaping the halftime game plan from the first match, and you get a complete disgrace.
