Alabama sacrifices themselves. Because Alabama determines what Alabama does. Not the others around them.

Bama had to sacrifice when the state legislature made them play API. This made API football relivant. UAB wants to play Bama for the same reason. Talk about a sacrifice!

Oh, so it sounds like you might know the answer, but are afraid of what others might think. Your tip toeing around lead me to this, so please correct me if you don't actually know.

quote:No scholarship limits. Coach Bryant was incredibly smart in that some of his recruiting was just taking players to keep them away from his opponents at times. He played 70 players per game regularly. That and he just coached the hell out of his team. He genuinely cared about his players on a personal level and kids would run through a wall for him. Much different than the impersonal, results or you're gone approach of the current coach. Both have worked, but I bet it's a lot harder to find a player that played for Coach Bryant that would say anything negative about him than the current guy.
What the hell prevented the rest of the college football world from doing the same damn thing?

That's all that matters.
Saban has a better winning percentage and more national championships in his first 7 seasons than Bryant had in his first 7 seasons.

You forgot to include the Head of NCAA Rules Enforcement who is a Bama alum as well.
To answer your tantrum over the 2011season, LSU would have (without any question whatsoever) finished the regular season ranked #2 and in a rematch with Alabama in the BCS title game if they would have lost 9-6 at Alabama. For some reason some LSU fans have gone full retard and have forgotten that Alabama was ranked #4 while Okie State was #7 after the Iowa State loss. The #2, #3, #5, and #6 ranked teams went on to lose. To honestly expect Alabama to be leapfrogged by a team ranked a few spots behind them is delusional. To pretend that LSU would have been leapfrogged by Okie State under the exact same circumstances is even more delusional.

Exactly. The only reason it's even a topic of discussion is the way they beat Oklahoma at the end of the season.
If they hadn't lost to a 6-6 Iowa State team, it wouldn't have mattered.
I have no idea why people still bring this up. It's not like LSU was actually better than Alabama that year.

I have even seen some Alabama fans try to blame Auburn because Mike Price decided to have sex with an ugly skank that looked like Dee Snyder from Twisted Sister

Psst, you're not very good at hiding your emotions. Kills the point that you might be trying to make.

I agree with you on this part of your post, but, when Bama was complaining about 17 opponents with open dates prior to playing Bama over 3 seasons, you probably said Bama fans should stop crying, didn't you?!

I'm sure there would be many Alabama fans mad at having to play LSU again. The question is whether Alabama fans would 3 years later still be suspending all logic and common sense about LSU's right to a rematch the way LSU fans have towards the 2011 rematch. Alabama fans wouldn't have a leg to stand on if they argued that LSU shouldn't have been in the title game if the score was reversed in the regular season game that year.
