Undefeated Miss St plays 2 loss UGA in the SECCG.
1 loss Auburn sits at home.
2 loss UGA beats Miss St in the SECCG.
Which team does the committee select?
2 loss SEC Champ UGA?
1 loss Miss ST who lost to UGA?
1 loss Auburn who didn't play in the game?

If they chose a second sec team it would be state.

A rematch of the SECCG? Don't you think the committee will look at that game as sort of an elimination game?

A two loss team isn't getting in over a one loss SEC team, even if they win the SEC.

State, possibly State as well as Auburn, would get in.

IF this happens, SEC will not represent in the playoffs. 2 Loss SEC Champ has little to no chance of making it.

Not possible because UGA won't have 2 losses and AU will have 3 losses.

That's a different "What happens in this scenario?" thread

This scenario has Auburn winning out. If that happens, you can book it that they're in the final four. They are already 3rd and have 3 really tough games left. No other teams resume with 1 loss will be close to theirs, whether they are playing in the SEC championship game is irrelevant.

I think they'd select Auburn.

AU would be in for sure as the 1 loss team with the best resume in the country. Not sure how the rest would shake out.

That's a prefect scenario for Auburn. They get in the play off and don't have to play an extra game. It worked out well for Bama in 2011. And I believe Bama deserved to be in the NCG.

The committee has addressed this.

When it gets this messy and hard to choose, they will just default to Bama. It's really the only fair outcome in this scenario.

Nice !!

I do think a non sec champ has to have a loss advantage over any P5 champ/ ND.
