Allen is a much better passer but he can't run for shite. If he was still the QB the read option A&M has done so well w/against everyone else wouldn't be anywhere near as effective.

Also, last time Allen faced a Bama defense he shite all over himself.

Would liked to have seen more designed runs with Knight. Maybe they called them and I just missed them. Like him when he gets to use his legs.

Trevor Knight was always a mediocre quarterback while at OU. Why do you think he was beat out? A&M is using him better than the way OU did but he was always very inaccurate. One game against an unmotivated Alabama team and people thought he was the best.

He was under pressure quite a bit. Why not draw up more quick passes? Or maybe even run the option with him, he's mobile enough.

Well. Overall our passing game helped Bama and they didn't need it. Our bubble screen bullshite was consistently good for -2 to -3 yards. Bama was all over that shite and blew it up from immediately. We also dropped a few passes as well.

On at least 3 blitzes our receivers seemed to be unaware of the hot read. Trevor got rid of the ball immediately and 2 of the passes were on the money and we never looked back for the ball... had tons of running room. One throw to Kirk on hot read was just too quick and Kirk didn't have time to turn around.. great Bama rush.

All of these problems led to 3rd and long to 3rd and VERY Long. Bama just has too good of a pass rush to overcome 3rd and 12, 14, etc... Trevor just didn't have time.

Ags just physically overmatched between the tackles on both offense and defense. Ags need to get bigger on D and we have to get bigger faster LBs. The middle of the D line and the LBs is where Bama had the advantage over us. It was a big advantage and it was clear to me. The speed of the Bama LBs would have negated the option. Trevor is fast but not quick. Just wouldn't have worked.

Bama was "Low Energy" that night.

I thought Trevor played well on Saturday. Aaron Rogers would have had problems with that kind of pressure.

Bubble Screen. I hate this fricking play. Most of us Ags hate this play also.

I get trying it once just to see but it never came close to working on either side. Bama knew exactly how to blow it up. Since it wasn't working we weren't setting up anything downfield off of it anyway.

Screens and anything east and west is infuriating. Always feast for famine, and usually famine.

and the shite show we saw on Saturday? Why has he regressed so much as a passer?

The aberration was his 350 yard win against Bama. That was the fluke. What you saw Saturday was the normal for Knight. That's why he got benched at OU. There is no mystery whatsoever.

I definitely get trying it. Sometimes you eat a team alive with that (bubble screens), so it's worth trying. But after it has been annihilated a couple of times, hang it up. Whatever you saw in film clearly isn't there today, so don't be stubborn. Try something else.

This is the best description of what happened Saturday. Good choice of words.

Did a good job of adjusting overall. He quickly went with the larger but less talented RB until he fumbled. He tried to take some deep shots to open up the game. Our limitations as an offense just couldn't be overcome by the end of it.

Knight had the best game of his entire career that night for OU, that's what happened.

That performance was not indicative of his overall abilities.

Alabama had nothing to play for when they played Knight with OU, so they put together one of the shittiest efforts I've seen in the CNS era. Also, Alabama seems to have better leadership on defense this year than they had that year.

You might want to compare Alabama defenses. The Alabama defense in 2013 was built more to stop offenses like LSU and Arkansas. The Alabama defense of 2016 is built more to stop spread offenses like A&M. They are still big but are quicker than their 2013 counterparts.

People still can't seem to recognize that not only did Nick Saban evolve the Bama offense, he also changed the damn defense as well.

Years ago when teams were going to fast-paced, HUNH, spread concept offenses - "is this what we want football to become?"

He got his answer when the rules continued to favor offenses. Damned if he didn't recruit differently on defense to be able to stop those offenses and he hired an OC that changed our offensive scheme and brought in a DT QB that has done pretty well as a freshman 18 yr old in the SEC West.

Thanks to the players that waited to turn pro. They came back and are wrecking shite on that defense.

Knight was looking for a place to lay down most of the day.

It was an anomaly against Bama. He had been benched for most of 2013 for playing so bad. He was seriously one of the worst QBs in CFB and then he came off the bench and beat Okie State and had a career game against Bama. Just like Stephen Garcia never played well again after the Bama game. Garrett Gilbert became a legend overnight with a great performance for Texas against Bama and never played well again. Chad Kelly and Johnny Manziel are the only two QBs to survive the Bama QB curse but they both lost to Bama the second time.

I thought Knight was fine Saturday. He wasn't great but he was under duress most of the game. He ran well and his 2 TD passes were gorgeous.

He is who he is.
