At least anytime a GOAT QB comes around, your defense will inexplicably be able to shut his arse down for no reason while everyone else is torn to shreds on said QBs way to the heisman.

But unfortunately no answer to late game screens.

I would take a top 70 defense TBH.

Like not good, but not hot garbage.

A slightly below average defense will be considered a good job this year.

I expect to give up big plays and some yardage but want to also have some sacks and turnovers. We had the first one but not the other with our last defensive scheme...not a good combo.

Defense was terrible last year, but most think there is more talent than was shown. I'm just hoping for a middling defense in his first year (50-70 range).

The scheme last year was laughably bad

3rd and Chavis will strike early and often. BTW, that fourth and 25 against Ole Miss will come back to haunt Arkansas with that DC in the booth.

Improvement overall on D but not perfection or even necessarily being good but it's hard to imagine being the same or worse, almost impossible.

Better recruiting (which seems to already be happening) and just average defense. I don't think that's asking too much.

Knowing the typical Arkansas fan, Bo Mattingly probably has them thinking 85 Bears at this point

Haven't listened to Bo in a while, but from what I've heard he's still sour that daddy Bret is gone.

Do you know how thrilled we would be to make it to the third down against most teams? If we suck on defense next year it will be an improvement for us.

It depends on how good their defensive line is.

We have some talent on the D-Line going into this season. The big question mark is their backups. We've also been recruiting quite well when it comes to the D-Line.

The O-Line... on the other hand... could be a horror show.
