Auburn had a dream season, from 3-9 to winning the SEC. Uk was preseason number 1, did not win a championship of any kind. Both finished second, above all the flaming posters in this thread.

Also their most famous coaches in each schools most popular sport were convicted NCAA cheats and they named facilities after them anyway.

When was Rupp convicted by the NCAA of cheating? This is news?

They both enjoyed watching Mich st play at one point this year.

The same season that the point shaving scandal happened under his watch. The NCAA investigated after that atrocity and uncovered several violations. Google it.

Says the fan of a team who didn't do shite in football and even less in basketball this season.

2nd place, print the shirts.....
Auburn did have a great season. Despite the luck coming from 3-9 to National runnerups you can't shite on that. Stop being sensitive...

You realize he was not involved in that right? It was the mob and schools around NYC. The reason the NCAA is the game and the NIT is not is because Rupp would not play MSG after that and threw his support to the NCAA.
From this LINK
The Facts
Kentucky was put on probation in the early 1950's due to a point shaving scandal that hit a number of schools. The entire 1952-53 season was cancelled. The next year, Kentucky went undefeated during the regular season, however, then-coach Adolph Rupp chose not compete in post-season competition because some of his starting players were prohibited from playing due to being in graduate school (in a bizarre ruling by the NCAA which actually dissuaded players from graduating on-time).
Unlike modern cheating scandals where the parties are schools and players, the scandal was not about schools interacting with players but the Mafia doing so. Big differnce!

Uconn / Calhoun was a school vs player infractions issue to get a player or players to attend Uconn
UK / Rupp was not about getting kids to come to UK and impermissible benefits it was about kids on a road trip being approached by the Mafia after they had already been recruited.
Can you really not see the difference? In the point shaving scandal the UK players were approached by players from the NYC schools.

UK got the fricking death penalty because of their violations, but yeah, Uncle Adolph was a clean as the driven snow. How can a man named Adolph do anything wrong.

At the conclusion of this scandal, a subsequent NCAA investigation found that Kentucky had committed several rule violations, including giving illegal spending money to players on several occasions, and also allowing some ineligible athletes to compete.[9]

What do Auburn and Kentucky both have in common?
Both have Blue as one of their primary colors, both have cats as a mascot, both are in the SEC, both have winning records against Ohio State in their predominant sport.
Did I miss anything?

Both played their way into the NC game. Something every other team, but one, couldn't do.

Agreed. But some posters on this board can't help themselves and just have to be trolls.

Can't believe the Bama fan is still trying to give us hell over our season last year.
Here's a secret for you. Auburn fans enjoyed the hell out of our season. You should try something else like, "Cam was a paid!" That'll get us!
