My idea. Play it in BR. Allow alcohol sales, and donate all money from alcohol sales to South Carolina.

Did not know NASCAR fans used hotels. Learned something today!

Doesn't seem anyone who has tried yet has had any trouble getting a hotel room in Columbia, so perhaps NASCAR fans do not in fact use hotels.

I know LSU moved the Arizona State game after Katrina, but is there any precedent to move an SEC game to the away team's stadium? I'd be pissed if this were reversed. For competitive reasons it should be at a neutral location. On the other hand, LSU would certainly donate all profits right back to relief funds (which ASU did).

I think that is a big sticking point on moving to BR. If LSU agreed for this to be an LSU home game, and to pay USC on the road in 2021, then making the switch would be a no brainer. But, there's no way LSU wants to give up a home SEC game in exchange for a stopgap game that will only result in a fraction of the revenue of a normal home game.

So, if I'm USC, assuming a normal game at Williams-Brice is out, I'd say we're playing at a neutral site, or we'll play to an empty house in Columbia (which ought to be feasible, just not real desirable), but we're not going to play a true road game without getting a future home game in return.

I think the teams requesting 60+ rooms a piece would be the main issue.

Those are legitimate concerns, but as to the competitive reasons, its more about LSU having 5 home SEC games and only 3 road SEC games. Bama, Ole Miss, and A & M fans would not be happy with that, and rightfully do. But if that's the only viable option, it may have to happen.

Welcome to a preview of 9 conference games...

But LSU is winning regardless.

A&M only has 3 true road games as does UGA/Florida some years because of a neutral site game. But point taken. I hope this takes place where most Gamecock fans that want to go can.

true, but on the flip side, on the return trip in 2020 or 2021 (can't remember what year), LSu would likely have 5 road games and 3 home games. with the situation, there may just have to be some arrangement made that some feel is "unfair," but that may be the only viable option to get the game played

I agree; we're all football fans, but we shouldn't lose sight of the thousands of people who have had their lives altered by the last few days. Just pointing out the competitive inequities that may unavoidably occur.

What do you know? You actually think a hurricane had something to do with all the rain in S.C.

Dunno about it being a night game because of TV, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did get moved to BR. Couldn't they play in Atlanta or something, or is that too much to ask?

I don't care either way. the right call is to move to BR and LSU gives the proceeds to relief efforts in south carolina.

if there's any state that understands bad weather, it's us.
