ESPN radio said there is "discussion" about that possibility. Not that it's a done deal

I don't think the water contamination problems will be an issue by Saturday... but the issue is resources such as police officers to do their usual thing at the games like direct traffic. And depending on OTHER roads where people are coming from the traffic could all filter into congested areas and just be a mess.

I have plans to be in Columbia for this game. Curious to see where it will be

kind of what people were trying to allude to yesterday. it's not about the actual area of williams brice being dry. there's just SO much that goes into hosting a football game and so many resources needed from the local community. when obama sends 1300 national guard members to the area for support, it's pretty clear that all available hands need to be used for the relief efforts, not directing traffic and monitoring drunks at a college football game.

Game will be moved to a local high school stadium. Capacity about 750. LSU tickets will not be refunded.

Obviously Charlotte would be ideal in the event of a move but the chatter is that with the NASCAR race this weekend, hotel availability and police staffing could be stretched thin.
Athens is less than 3 hours away and UGA is on the road. Could that be an option?
I think one problem you might face in a neutral site game is how to get the stadium staffed on a couple days notice for teams the locals dgaf about.

A UGA fan on CockyTalk said this. I'd be down, but seriously doubt this happens.

eh, i think circumstances change when there's a disaster situation. people tend to do their best to help out those in need during a crisis. my gut says the game will be moved to lsu, though, to maximize attendance and donations back to the state. chances are, even if they move the game to jacksonville, atlanta, or charlotte, there won't be but bout 30k make that game

They could move it to Sunday or Monday.

I know LSU moved the Arizona State game after Katrina, but is there any precedent to move an SEC game to the away team's stadium?
I'd be pissed if this were reversed. For competitive reasons it should be at a neutral location.
On the other hand, LSU would certainly donate all profits right back to relief funds (which ASU did).

BoA Stadium in Charlotte is free this weekend, but a NASCAR race Saturday night makes finding hotels an issue.
I found a room 1/2 mile from the stadium without a problem.
