Once again, they were never the same. I didn't say they were never good again, but they were never the Miami that was despised by the nation and that struck fear in opponents the way they did leading up to that game.

Anyone following football during that time knows what I'm talking about.

Those early 2000 Miami teams were highly respected/feared. You're just deliberately pretending like they weren't so you can pretend you killed their program for good.

You said the program was never feared like they were in the 80s. I doubt that very much. Yea the bama win in 92 ended that Miami run, but that win didn't sink their program nor where they never respected/feared like they were prior to that loss

this is just stupid. lsu lost at home to ole miss the following week, then struggled the rest of the year. the next two years lsu had a losing record.

You're not getting it. I never said that Miami was never good again, and I never said they were never respected or feared. I said it was never the same, and it wasn't.

I don't need to pretend anything. I know what Miami was like at that time, and I know what they have been since.

The 01 Miami squad was a once in a generation assembly of talent. They fricking rotated Clinton Portis, Frank Gore and Willis McGahee at RB and that's just one example

I don't understand how anyone could argue this

that's like LSU fans saying we applied the death nail to Miami in 05 peach bowl.

Good programs always rise from the ashes.

That's much more valid than saying Bama ended it in 92

I prepared a carefully worded rebuttal, but it was too long to post here, so I'll just summarize: frick you, Corndog.

95 bama. Snapped the streak and shot us into our late 90s success

a "big win" isn't the same as program changing. Hell, jim donnan beat UF in 1997 too (by 20 points at that), didn't change our program at all.

Better choise for LSU would be the 01 SECCG (huge win) or 03 Georgia (from what I gather, that's when lsu fans/players/coaches really, truly bought into the fact they could win a title).

2014 - Ole Miss-Bama. Signified a new era in the SEC as Saban passed the crown to Freeze.

If Ole Miss does win, and it's entirely possible, you should expect the inevitable rebbear pee-on-ourselves finish to the season and go ahead and look for cheap tickets to the Music City Bowl.

People forget what a monumental upset that Bama-Miami game was. Da U was at the pinnacle of their success and arrogance and got completely clowned on the national stage. No one and I mean no one gave Bama a chance. Miami had a good run in the early 2000s but they never really regained their position after that game.

they did when they won 44 games over a 4 year span and had arguably the greatest college football team ever
