What is holding Tennessee back?
Probably the fact that 4 years ago, he was a high school coach.

So what? The guy has W's follow him, regardless of level of competition.

Why not take a chance on him? IF he fails (which he hasnt yet), youre in the same position now, looking for a new coach.

Malzahn is just like any other assitant coach, he wants a head coaching spot. If you offer it (Tenn) he will come.

Looks like his system would work for Tennessee in the immediately: Georgia's defense is down, Spurrier D has a tendency to implode, Florida would handle it decently (they haven't seen it), Bama will fornicate with their skull, Vandy will study it regardless of outcome, UK could continue their streak of bad luck vs that system.

Hire Gus

Not a risk the UT AD can take. He might be done anyway but this hire is only chance at survival, I suspect.

So taking Kiffin was not a risk? Shoot, the AD is already in deep doo-doo. Best he can do now is try to sign the next Urban Meyer.

You make Malzahn sound pretty good. Makes you wonder how a school could be so stupid as to let a guy like that go to a lesser job for lower pay.

Ya, bc fans are able to keep coaches where they are.

Dumbest post of the day nominee.

Yeah, since I was obviously talking about the fans when I posted that bit about 'the school' letting him go.

Here, I'll try to dumb it down for you so there's no misunderstanding:

How stupid was it for the individuals who make the decisions involving University of Arkansas athletics to choose to keep Houston Nutt and fire 'the next Urban Meyer' after the 2006 season?

The people who made those decisions, as you know, are no longer that the U of A. Thank you and come again.
