You were the guy that talked so much shite last year before the game and then went absent for days after the game. Huh.

The kid was a future star and a favorite of his teammates. I do know both father and son. Went to high school with father and wast at State during his playing time. The kid was a special personality. Still close with his entire high schools team and coach. The dad is fondly remembered by older fans. He was a part of Sherrils first teams. A starter that helped bring State to some success in football after many years of suckitis. That's one reason he was remembered very well. It was well known how close the two were. They were often said to be more like brothers and were inseparable. quit being dicks.

Alabama lost a legend this year, Kenny Stabler, my favorite Bama player. He wouldn't want the team or the Bama family to mope around about it.

Also the Bama players were close to Altee Tenpenny, who died in a car accident earlier last month. Life goes on.

All this is true, but the "Life goes on" part doesn't happen instantly. The State player died last week (had to look it up since this is the first thread I've seen about it). That's recent. I'm sure there are still some Bama players hurting over losing their friend Altee, so no doubt State players are still hurting over this loss.

You expect young people do deal with loss in their own way, on their own timetable, and often in their own terms. You DON'T expect adults to go on a message board and try to make posts that imply it will be some type of motivation for the team in the SAME post that he correctly talks about a football game not mattering much (by the implied comparison). Don't trivialize his life or death by trying to make it motivation for his teammates.
