Do I think Cuonzo Martin will take Mizzou to the Final Four? No.

But he's a hell of a lot better than Kim fricking Anderson, and he'll bring Mizzou back to not-terrible status, which will be good for everyone in the league. We all have to play each other so it doesn't do us any good to have shitty teams. I don't like Mizzou but I would prefer it if a loss to them wasn't a badge of shame.

The length of the deal is questionable but I bet Mizzou just wants some stability and they see Martin as a safe hire that can have them in the tournament on a semi-regular basis. He won't blow anybody's tits off but he'll be ok.

Cuonzo is terrible. I'm glad he went to a school Tennessee plays on a regular basis.

He's light years better than Hearh. But that's a low bar.

I may be simply optimistic. But I would think its to keep him from bouncing after 3 years. We won't know til we hear terms.

Meh. They're pretty similar. Good recruiters(Heath brought big talent to Arkansas), both run boring offenses and don't utilize their best players strengths.

Heath made the tournament at a comparable rate as Martin has and had an elite 8 run at his mid major job.

3 or 3.5 mil a year is go to the Final 4 every once in a while coach money. We just hired a guy we will be excited to make it to the Sweet 16 a couple times with. Second round NCAA ceiling is not worth 3 mil a year. If Illannoy pushed the salary to those terms, let them have him. Get ready for brilliant answers after our 10-12 losses a year. "They did not play hard enough."

THAT DOESN'T MEAN I WANT US TO PAY A TOP 20 SALARY NATIONALLY FOR AN AVERAGE COACH! WHAT IN THE ACTUAL frick?! If we're going to pay that kind of money, WE SHOULD'VE HIRED MARSHALL! Can you stop sipping on the kool-aid for one minute? WAKE UP!

martin honestly isn't a bad coach.

IMHO his problem is the same problem that Lorenzo romar has... he's TOO good of a recruiter for his own good. he keeps recruiting kids that are one and done.

so its just to be assumed that washington is going to release him from his LOI if romar gets fired? why?

That wouldn't be very strange at all
