Well...Jalen Hurts wasn't picked because he's a future HOF passer

I thought he was a running quarterback who can pass. Actually a pass first guy with a good arm was what we heard.
His passing has not only not been good, it's been pathetic.
Thankfully we have some great receivers who can adjust in route. Too bad noone is 10'8". His passes are flat as a pancake, on the wrong side of receivers, and he's just plain missed others. He's also had a tendency to stare at a receiver like a 6th grader with a crush.
But. He's a gamer who can run the ball. He's mentally tough. He's a leader. He's only a year out of high school. And he's going to beat your team.

He's an undefeated true freshman. Give it time. I think Lees first pass was a pick six

Thanks for the much needed PSA

Get the frick out of here with that shite.

He's a true freshman. Most of your complaints are skills that QBs learn to avoid with time and practice.

To be honest, weren't like 16 others?

Lol wow, he is an average passer with a big arm. He will get better. This time last year he was passing to high school kids.

Exactly. If he's missing receivers after several more games, you can start to get worried. Right now, just thank the Lord he is a talented QB with lots of poise and a WR corps and great defense to take the pressure off.

He's got a high motor.

Last year Lamar Jackson was a passer with a 55% completion percentage, averaging 153 yards passing and 80 yards rushing per game. He had a TD/INT ratio of 12:8 and 10 rushing TDs. He was clearly talented but raw.
This year he's completing 61% of his passes with a TD/INT ratio of 8:2 who is averaging 300+ yards passing per game while running for another 154 average. He's getting better all the time with the reps.
I'm NOT saying Hurts is Jackson (Bama doesn't need him to be), but he's a 62% passer with a TD/INT ratio of 4:1 who is averaging 188 passing yards and 66 rushing yards per game. His FR pace is ahead of Jackson's FR pace.

Kid is making history at Alabama. Poster complains that he's missed some throws in his first 3 games.

This is a pretty bitch arse op. Melting because a true freshman overthrow a couple passes in his road game. Grow some nuts.

I really hate Lane's playcalling. And when I mean playcalling, I don't mean the lack of diversity in the passing attack because I definitely don't blame Lane for being conservative with Hurts with the way he's been struggling throwing the ball downfield. I'm talking about all of the jet sweeps and end arounds instead of just giving the ball to Harris and Scarbrough 25+ times a game. Plus Hurts had 23 pass attempts at the half. Think about how ridiculous that stat is when you consider how much Ole Miss was struggling to stop Bama's running game. When McElwain had John Parker Wilson and Greg McElroy and even a young A.J. McCarron, he had a ground and pound running game with Coffee and Ingram and Richardson and Lacy to help out those QBs. That's what you're supposed to do when you have a struggling or inexperienced QB not throw a bunch of bubble screens and jet sweeps that go for minimal gain.
