Gus doesn't seem to be head coach material IMO. He has a very good machine when it's running on all cylinders and he is the machine operator, but I'm not sure he is capable of fixing the machine if it's broken. Crazy as it sounds, I thought his coaching acumen was severely exposed in the second half of the national championship game vs. FSU. He seems to get disoriented at times. Frankly his playcalling is overrated. I'm not sure he has the leadership capability of fixing the machine if its broken and/or doesn't have all its parts. Just my opinion. He's going to have to truly lead men to get Auburn back on track this season and we'll see if I'm proven wrong.

Maybe but I'll take NM back tonight and I don't see a career with NASA in his future

So you're saying the entire premise of his aura is based on running a fast-paced, gimmick offense (no talent, just lining up faster than the other team) and two miraculous, game-winning plays against Auburn's two biggest rivals in consecutive weekends?

Interesting.

It's also a challenge to keep the cork on the end of Jeremy Johnson's fork so he doesn't poke his eyes out while eating.

Money.

I ave believed all along that he was the kind of coach who could do this, despite the vehement denials of the tRant posters from his home state (the veracity of whose opinions on the relative merits of SEC HCs have been recently called into considerable doubt).

If Gustav is the leader I want to believe him to be, the next few weeks will indicate that.

Or not. In which case I will humbly accept my plate of cold, leftover Corvus brachyrhynchos.
