He also was on the phone at the end of every season trying to get a better paying gig either somewhere else or by threatening to leave.

Nope. Arky got to the Sugar Bowl under Petrino and Freeze has won more games, beaten every West team including Alabama twice, made a better bowl already even though we got shite canned.

Before Nutt where was Arky?

Seems like he built you back

I don't know which was worse...10 years of false hope for Arkansas fans, or the 4 years as an Ole Miss fan having to listen to our forewarning of impending doom and then watching it happen.

BTW, growing up an OM fan and OM being my second favorite team, I do have some sense of empathy. Knowing full well what was coming when Nutt was hired at Ole Miss, it was kind of like winning an extra bonus of 4 more years of frustration.

I did like how he referred to players as objects.

"This is where you miss a Peyton Hillis"

"This is where you could use several Marcus Monks"
"I could really go for a bag of Casey Dicks"

Henry, Didn't want to bump the thread from the 4th. Your quote below.

Nice misdirection away from the swag lords performance in the swamp.
258 yards passing 1 Td and 1 int when he was getting hammered every play. Kelly didn't have a bad game all things considered and anyone who says he did is clueless about football.

After seeing the back and forth about Chad Kelly I watched the Ole Miss - FL game Sunday afternoon while the Texans were taking an arse whipping.

I have to say that I thought Kelly looked pretty damn good for being under as much pressure as he was under. That guy stood in there when he was taking a real pounding. Not sure what happened to your O-line on Saturday but it has been while since I saw a QB take that much punishment and deal with that much pressure but still stand in the pocket knowing it was coming. Kelly looks quick to me and appears to have some wheels.

The guy looks like a baller to me.

Nutt was good for Arkansas and didn't want to be at Ole Miss but they paid him. Ultimately, he couldn't recruit in MS and it killed him. He would have done well at LSU with all the talent in LA.

One thing that worried me about Chad coming into the season was his toughness. He proved he's tough enough to succeed in the SEC

No I think initially he wanted to be at Ole Miss. He saw talent level we had and the state of Mississippi high school talent. His first season he recruited very well and won 9 games.

The reason he trashed our program in 2010 and 2011 is because he hated Pete Boone. Boone had promised him all kinds of things like facility upgrades when he was hired and Boone never gave it to him. Dan Mullen also coming in and smacking him across the face on the field and in recruiting made him realize it wasn't going to be so easy making Ole Miss the only good football school in the state like he did at Arkansas. So, he tanked the program until we fired him and he collected millions of dollars from us just sitting on his arse.

I agree, Nutt is a better coach than Freeze. Nutt just didn't have the Manning family funding recruiting.

Wow- what an alter. If you were a hog fan there is no way to forget all the stuff that happened the last season- and 100000000000% he was on the hot seat. I'm not saying that as some slight towards ole miss either, I'm saying it as a complete and total truth and there is no way that any hog fan could possibly say he was not on the hot seat. People that were Nutt lovers would even admit that freely. The stuff that went on with Mustain, Malzahn, the email, the FoI inquiry, the banners, etc. You just fully outed yourself, fool.

Oh, initially, he put his heart into the Ole Miss program. I have no doubt. Part of Nutt's problem is letting OC's do their job. I saw it at Ole Miss as well. He went through 3 OC's in four years. When he brought in David Lee, it was like a replay of the 2007 season at Arkansas...but without the talent of Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, and Peyton Hillis.

The man basically ran off Gus Malzahn by bringing in David Lee to 'hep' Gus with his offense.

Nutt was too much of an egomaniac to actually have an OC and let them call plays. He wanted all of the credit for any success.

That's why it's so refreshing to have a coach that manages and lets his assistants do their jobs.
