Money won't be the same.

He's making $5 million in base salary this year and the total value of his contract is worth $44 million through 2022. How much higher than that do you really think TAF is willing to go? I know you'll get to spread Les' buyout over 8 years, but close to $2 million/year in buyouts + Jimbo's salary would be pretty steep.

Don't forget, LSU plays UF each year. Fisher won't want to deal with that. The West is tough enough. UF is not just an East opponent. It's an opponent that knows how dumb Jumbo is, knows how weak he is, knows he'll let a rapist run his program, and will be more than a little fired up to see him each year, not to mention McElwain is a better coach than Jumbo and has UF improving.

Looks like he is 4-1 vs Florida.

I wouldn't pass too hard of judgment on Jimbo considering the shite going on at Florida under CUM.

Didn't UF just squeak by FAU?

Alleva has undermined Les Miles to the extent that this thing is happening no matter what happens next Saturday.

If I had to guess, I would say LSU's next Coach may come from the ACC.

The SEC Network money distribution will make it extremely costly to hire away another SEC school's head coach if that school wants to keep him. Just not worth it.

Buyouts get negotiated ask the Chiz. In reality we will raise the money to pay for Les's Buy out and then paying our coach what is expected in this market is just part of business. We are top 5 in revenue off of Football. We can swing 6-7 Mill a year for a head coach if we wanted to.

Alleva came from Duke.

He is a lot more likely to hire someone who is a younger version of Cutcliffe than Jimbo Fisher.

Jimbo Fisher has a bad rep for player discipline, just don't see Alleva hiring him.

Jimbo may have won a national title more recently than Les (with a Heisman QB), but I don't think he's a better coach. The only possible upgrade I see even possibly in play is Chip Kelly.

Is Fisher that much of an upgrade?

What if, God forbid, you spend all this money on him and he loses to Saban three years in a row?

This is a new and exciting angle from a L5U poster. I have never heard this before.

Probably a bad idea considering the proximity to New Orleans. May want to steer clear of Holgorosen as well.

Jimbo is very much in play here

I'd agree....in play as in playing L5U to get a huge raise from FSU.

Jimbo and his agent will leverage LSU into making thigs harder for LSU and into a new contract at Florida State. Jimbo has the same agent as Saban, and Saban is Jimmy Sexton's best client. Why not try to frick up LSU's search and get a new deal for another client?

And no thanks on Jimbo after the way he let Jameis Winston run Florida State for two years.

This guy gets it.
