Yes, that's why it'll likely never happen. You can put a check in the plus column for everything from an AU perspective. I don't see a way to make it work with the conference as a whole if you'd have to break up AU/Bama or UT/Bama.

It will be interesting to see what happens. I don't want to lose either but the gripping from the rest of league may be too much in the end. AU gets everything they want....the rest of the league DGAF they just want more rotation of opponents...more frequent games with other SEC teams.

Oh, really??? Please cite some specific examples where Auburn got their way against the will of other schools?
(And if you are referring to moving AU home games from that "neutral" site known as Legion Field, just go ahead and try and justify having us play our home Iron Bowls in that sand box)

Settle down - I meant under the scenario of AU moving to the east with Bama as a permanent cross, AU gets eveything they want...you get to keep UGA as well.
...and don't even go there about AU bitching out of the neutral site game...Bama owned you guys at Legion Field which is why you wanted out. Tickets were 50/50 so don't see how that impacted you. Bama just owned your arse at Legion so you needed to get a home field advantage. As I said in my OP, Bama should have called your bluff back in '89.

If it happens, do Arkansas and Tennessee resume their yearly game? I guess Georgia would be the other option.

Tickets were 35% to each school and 30% to the city of Birmingham.... very neutral
Yes, Alabama won more there, but it doesn't take much to realize that AU would choose an actual home game instead of playing in front of majority Alabama fans each year with almost every usher, concession worker, etc. wearing crimson. Birmingham felt like home to Alabama for many years. It was never home to Auburn.

Can I quote you on that when AU fans bitch about Bama's BOT not doing enough for UAB and Birmingham?

Up vote, Auburn should be in the East. Missouri in the West.

East will be dominant division within next 3 years, imo.

Disagree, LSU-Auburn games are fun and competitive when played in JHS.
Would hate to lose them.

Auburn led for 60 some odd years because they didnt play.
They actually "led" for a fraction of that time.
I cant imagine not playing either. I dont really care about playing anyone in the SEC except AU and UT. Those games are so traditional. Those 2 are the "dont sleep all week" games. We just dont have that with other teams save maybe State who i think we have played more than we have UT.

I love how much this troll thread directed at Tennessee has riled up the Aubies

It has always made more geographic sense for Auburn to be in the East, but the divisions were made the way they were for competitive balance. Three each of the Big Six.
Some of you kids yammering about how the East sucks don't seem to realize that this recent string of dominance by the West is the first time the West has ever been ahead in SECCG victories since after the very first SECCG. The West reeled off six in a row from 1993 to 1998. Florida, Georgia, and Tenn will come back around.
I do wish we played the other West teams more often. I like the idea of the roommate switch, or of having a nine game conference schedule.

I miss the days when we were playing Florida, Tennessee and FSU. Some damn good ballgames.
