That'd be a pretty scary division if Tennessee and Florida got their shite together. You'd have Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, and Auburn all in one division.

AU wants to go to the East anyway. Let 'em go.

There can only be one winner - let 'em beat the crap outta each other.

That's the point though. Historically. Like ancient history. Dropping them would do way more harm than beating them year after year after year with no end in sight. Let Auburn move to the east and keep them.

The west will be moderately weaker in football and it drives Tennessee beyond irrelevancy into obscurity whitout Bama giving them pseudo-relevance off the aBama name through a game that is nothing more than a one sided slaughter for us. It no longer is beneficial for Bama and even though they know it will be a slaughter it's the best recruiting tool they have to offer, because they have nothing else really. Besides an ugly arse ancient stadium that is as attractive as a garbage dump.

I say we finish them.

I'll have to see if I can drag up Jay Gouge quote on it when I get back from lunch.

I'd be 100% for splitting the teams from the same states into different conferences: the Mississippis, Alabama/Auburn, Vandy/Tennessee.

Makes logistical sense and AU could rekindle their old rivalries in the East.

It makes perfect geographical sense as well. They want in what is currently a weaker division, but when Mac turns UF around it will be about the same, plus we would be their permanent so it would be a push for them in terms of strength of division opponents and the USC has the occasional good team.

I would only like the move if we kept them as our permanent opponent though. He'll just think if we ever got to play each other twice. I would much rather have the opportunity to at AU twice than continue the yearly beatings over a has been. It means as much as beating Florida Int. in other words, beating Tennessee is meaningless for Bama.

Be careful for what you wish. We make divisions weak and down wherever we go.

The division wasn't up to par when y'all joined. Pinkel took advantage of it and took his team to ATL two years straight.

No idea.

But if we were allowed to play Ole Miss, Arky, and A&M on a never ending loop...

Tennessee has historically been far more relevant in terms of a rivalry than Auburn. Tennessee will be back sooner rather than later. Besides, I'm sick to death of them and their fans....their incessantly annoying little brother, short man syndrome as well as their constant defining themselves against Bama....we should have told them to suck a choad back in 1989. Iron Bowl needs to take a time out anyway as the sidewalks are getting out of control. Playing them only validates their existence.

Let them go to the East and they can be Georgia's full time problem.

Another ignorant Bama fan. Tennessee has never led Alabama in the all time series for any meaningful amount of time. Auburn however lead the Iron bowl against Alabama for 60+ years. It took Alabama all the way until 1965 to take the lead for the first time in their history. That's right, the first time in the Iron Bowl's history - 73 years man. Your current lead rests upon 9 straight wins during the 70's. You have only been better than Auburn for 20 years in your entire history from about 1961-1981. If it weren't for Bryant, you'd still be sucking our tail pipes. Before Bryant showed up Auburn led the series and after he passed, Auburn has once against resumed command. Since 1982 Bryant's last year Alabama's record vs. Auburn in the Iron Bowl is 15-18. But, hey we're not relevant. I guess I know why you feel that way now. Enjoy the Bryant years, it was the only time in your history when you were better than your daddy Auburn.

The best TN has ever done was take a brief one game lead against Alabama in 1960. It was short lived

Your fear, I smell it.
