ETA: also the travesty that was 21-0 is still a sore spot. Not the score near as much as that any other school in Bama's position would not have been in that game .

I can understand how a LSU fan would feel like that, though it isn't the first time a rematch has happened in the title game.

That LSU and Alabama were probably the two best teams in the nation, though, and the fact that first game was so close, I think it was justified, and not just because it was Alabama. I think it was Florida and FSU in a rematch a few years before that one. If I remember correctly, without looking it up, I think the loser in the regular season game also won that title game.

So if the point of a title game is to pit the 2 best teams in the nation, and I believe most college football fans would agree that it is, then they both probably deserved to be in that game, and since UA won pretty soundly, I think it was clear that they did belong there.

This whole thing has been beaten to death ever since that year, and so we're getting kind of on a tangent, but it is relative to the point of topic. Thanks for the feedback.

ahh. Such a Grim attitude. You realize, of course, all that anger is bad for the health. Don't stroke out, man.

I have to worry about keeping my wife happy.
I have to worry about how my kids turn out.
I have to worry about maintaining a successful business.
I have to deal with the high real estate taxes that come with living in an expensive house.
I have to pay a shitload of federal income tax in order to subsidize this country's poor.

I guess I resent the fact that I'm not some single, white trash, toothless a-hole living in a single-wide in rural Alabama whose only concern in life is the fortunes of his favorite college football team.

ehheh. It's totally uncool to boast, but it's totally sad to think you're boasting when it's apparent you don't have much to really boast about.

If you have to worry about keeping the wife happy, she probably isn't.
If you have to worry about how your kids turn out, you may be disappointed.
If you have to worry about maintaining a successful business, then you probably aren't good at it, and won't last long term.
If you have to boast about an expensive house, then it's really really pathetic.
If you have to boast about income, then ditto.

And then to assume the other guy is poor is just damn stupid.

Here's how you do it.

I have 10 rental houses in Carroll County, Ga., the beach place, and my own home, and by the grace of God don't owe a dime, but yeah, I also pay taxes, though I don't generally boast about how much, like some dork that thinks he has money.

Now. You were saying?

edit: And oh yeah, I have been a successful business owner (residential construction) since the early 80s. I don't have to worry about being good at it. I am good at it.

edit II: I've been to Louisiana, so I've seen the rat shacks. I wouldn't go dissing any other state if I were you.
