Alabama has by far the best power run defensive talent in the country.

They are so good and so specialized that some of their players don't even get to play most of the time, just against power run teams. This is why hunh spread is so effective against Alabama. Spread formations force Alabama to use smaller faster personnel (where Alabama's recruiting edge is diminished) And the HUNH can catch Alabama for a big play if they ever have the wrong personnel on the field. This is why Saban hates HUNH and wanted to change the rules for "safety"

It's also why Alabama can look like the best team in the country against teams like LSU, Georgia, and Wisconsin. But lose at home to Ole Miss. LSU in particular is to blame for making Alabama consistently in the national conversation these past 5-10 years. LSU has amazing talent, and with this talent advantage they can run an out of date offense and still overpower almost all of their opponents, and then go and lose to Alabama. Alabama is continually being propped up by these wins against power run teams, but now that there is a playoff Alabama has to beat two national teams.

What this all means is Alabama is going to continue being the SEC representative in the playoff, and they are going to continue losing the playoff. Alabama's superior reputation and dominance in power rush defense can't win them games against teams with similar talent who don't run cave man offense. It's football, so Alabama has a decent shot at winning a game, but two games is almost always going to be more kryptonite exposure than Bama can handle.

Funny, how much bait is in that post, from a guy named BearBait.

But OSU had a better team last year. They had an amazing OL, and we had a mediocre pass rush with a weak secondary. We shouldn't have been able to win the SEC. Yet, with they most holes on a Saban team since '07, we still win the SEC.

Other than OSU, how many Ooc teams have beat Bama in a meaningful game (not including meaningless Sugar Bowls)??

Our offense still is inconsistent. But when we are on, we're dominant. Coker has been improving weekly. So while we don't get the years we under Blake Sims, we are a much better team.

And if you don't like the SEC representative, help Lil Miss break out the checkbook, and recruit harder.

We are so bad at stopping those offenses, we lose a whole 1 regular season game a year to them.

Kryptonite must mean the thing that can occasionally stop something if given enough tries

Just stop. We get it. Next year will be the year. Eventually we're doomed, and you all will be validated.

I like to call it restoring order.
