re: Warren Sapp: Myles Garrett is lazy, overrated and only makes 4 plays a game.

I agree with Sapp.
I have been saying that Garret is overrated and will be a bust.

I figured this was somehow related to MG's recent slight of Booger McFarland--the comments were too similar for it not to be.
Sure enough, a quick Google search just showed me what I suspected about their closeness.
Those men are certainly entitled to their opinions, but they're in the extreme minority.
Best of luck to every SEC athlete on Draft Day.

My goldfish is getting huge after 3 years.
Look everyone! I can talk about crap that is irrelevant to the thread too.
On something that is relevant; I have a serious question for Myles Garrett fans that occurred to me that last few days:
quote:
In what ways is Myles Garrett different from Courtney Brown?
Both were 6'4" athletic freaks with clean backgrounds with about 33 sacks in college. Brown's career got derailed by injuries in the pros and Garrett has had a few nagging injuries in college.
Seriously, not a troll question. I didn't watch that many A&M games and I haven't watched that much game film on Garrett. Does Garrett have the fire to play through and perform when he has nagging injuries?

More so than just about any athlete I've followed.
But he really isn't an injury-prone guy.
Obviously the NFL is a different universe.

Serious answer with real examples.
“In the over time, he wouldn't come out of the game and I think that says more about Myles Garrett than anything else. He gets hurt at Arkansas. Obviously it was a pretty significant injury. He then went back in the game and finished the game, wanted to finish the game.”
"For him to go back in the game with that injury and be effective and then come into a game where he was admittedly 65%-70% (against Tennessee) and then look at me on the sideline in overtime and say “No, I’m playing”…he played the whole overtime, double overtime. It was important to him to win the game with his teammates.”

I think he benefits from no surefire #1 overall QB and that usually means the best pass rusher is next in line. He's probably the most physically gifted, but, I think Sapp has a point in that he's probably gone get run on in the NFL.

Fournette was just hampered by the school he went too. The average lsu grad wonderlic score is a 14. So LF's score wasn't so bad.

Looked like the play was blown dead and the LSU player was being a dhick.
Once Myles let up, he couldn't really reestablish to be expected to do anything else about it.
Lucky 95 from aTm wasn't injured.

I don't think anyone in this draft will live up to their expectations. Dude is a beast tho and i expect him to be average. Definitely not a Chris Jones or a Fletcher Cox but there aren't many other options. If you could give Jonathan Abrams Myles Garrett's measurables you might have the best pass rusher in the NFL (second only to fletcher cox)

you must not watch NFL football. the first one was the top defensive rookie last year (Chris Jones)... the second is a 2 time probowl player... both are from mississippi state... There was a little bit of sarcasm implied too. I still don't expect Myles Garrett to be better than either.
