so.... will this now be used as an excuse to stop updating cell service in stadiums? While I want a clean restroom more I still want my cell phone to not die if I try to look up some scores.

No, we have 30,000 student seats and 40,000 that want to attend. If they don't want their seat they need to give it to a student that is having to sit out because we don't have enough seats.

This isn't just a problem with students. Between ticket prices, the pain of parking situations on most large campuses and the fact that no large college football stadium has gone to all chairbacks yet means people are justifying not going by being able to get a much more comfortable experience at home. Throw in the fact that you can get a 60" HDTV for under $1,000 now. Hell, Sams has a 70" Vizio for $1200. It's not like people have to stay home and listen on the radio anymore.

1. Cheap tickets
2. Cheap beer
3. Good football team
4. Be able to cut loose and have a good time and be stupid and that includes STTDB
Things boosters, their wives, season ticket holders etc want:
1. luxury dining
2. wifi so the wife can post on instagram the pics of little johnny
3. more female restrooms because the current ones are not big enough for the packs
4. comfortable seats
5. everything else

This has been my theory on it as well. When I was a student you showed up at the stadium and you had your student ticket and your ACT card (student ID). You gave them both to the ticket taker and you were in. I have no idea what it is like now but that is what I heard, that you had to transfer the ticket to the account of the other student etc etc. Who the hell is going to go through that hassle? What do student tickets even cost now? I think they were $25 for the entire season in my day. Even at double that price you are going to get maybe $20 for your ticket

Sell alcohol. Will keep everyone in the stands. Its hard for people to want to stay when they have waited in the stands for over an hour, then the game starts, and by halftime peoples day drinking hangovers kick in. Just keep the party going.

When I was at LSU all you had to do to get into the student section was buy a student ticket for about $3 and walk over to the ticket office and pay $20 to upgrade it to a student guest ticket. I had a bunch of friends that would come up from UNO & Loyola and that's how they got in. Now I don't even think it's possible for non-students to get in.

I can see where the students that care enough about football to put up with the hassle of going to games wouldn't be the ones that would be upset about not having full use of their smartphones during a game. It's probably more of an issue for students who don't really care about the game, but just go for the social aspect, but even those students probably would take upgraded restrooms over upgraded cellular service--whether it's girls with some bladders or guys with flasks.
One thing that may happen in the not too distant future is that people may start getting their replays from smartphones, not just scores and the like. When that happens, all these huge video boards taking up space become less attractive.

They need for a constant stream of entertainment. Pauses in action, tv timeouts, boring recognition of all B students on the field kill the entertainment value and they drift away.
Due to social media, connectivity, whatever you wanna call it.....there is a constant waking question of "am I missing out on something?" Any dead time has to be filled with checking to make sure you're not missing out on anything. If you don't believe me, look around the next time you are at a stop light. Brief pause in the action of driving and everyone is checking to make sure they haven't missed anything. Hell, most do it now while driving.

Get rid of TV pauses. There is too much time when you are sitting around with nothing going on. Media timeouts have really extended game length and made attending the game more tedious.

It would help but it's pretty hard to compete with this 70" TV for $1300. This is what is killing attendance. This TV cost less than just 1 of my season tickets.
