I think he gets a tough wrap. He by far had one of the tougher stints as president. I mean we did get attacked. Had that happened with Obama as pres, he would have flown to their country and bowed to them and asked them to please not do it again.

Good move. If nothing else, Bush is genuine.

That being said, frick both of them. Give Slick Willy term #3, and a stable of hoes to keep him content.

Very admirable gesture, from a very likable man.

For the people who just couldn't resist telling us their opinion of Obama in this thread, frick you.

This!

The current POTUSseems determined to turn America into a 3rd world cesspool similar to his home country.

Not one of my favorite Presidents by a long shot, he or his father ... and I am a staunch Conservative. But the man does have a lot of class, and he always meant well. His problem is that he was raised and advised by a globalist.

I'm glad he took the time and effort to write the note though, and he has done a helluva lot for the troops and continues to do so.

Terrible President. Wish I could go out drinking with him sometime though. Dude is quite the character. Nice gesture.

Compared to the Liar that is in the oval office right now W looks like George Washington.

There's just no room for humanity and decency in the White House anymore. Voters won't stand for it. They require liars and con men...and women.

W is a nice, fundamentally decent person who I think honestly tries to do the right thing, has good intentions, and genuinely loves America.

This letter is par for the course with him and a great gesture.

I think he fricked up massively as president, and he deserves a lot of, but not all (blaming him for Katrina, for example, is just lunacy) of the blame he gets. However, his ill-advised wargasm was just that: ill-advised. Dick Cheney, who is not a nice person in really any way, fooled him and really the entire government (read up on what he told Dick Armey) into that mess.

I got a congratulatory note with Bush and Laura's non-notarized signatures at the bottom.

Why would he ever send out a notarized signature?

Aren't you only in college?
No offense; but I don't think anyone's interested in what you post on your Tumblr account.

On the leg of a GI Bill, yes. I'm 27, so I have some life experience compared to most college students.
