Rumor on VOLS boards is Butch tried to demote Debord to a lesser role, he didn't accept and was handed a pink slip.
The Helfrich rumor has been out there for a while and he was confirmed to be in attendance for one of Tennessee's bowl practices last week

The plan was for him to retire from coaching and take a cushy football ops job but there was a falling out in December.
