That whole opening-up-the-QB-position-to-competition thing before the Florida game ended up making Jones look foolish. A chimp throwing darts at a board couldn't have done worse, and probably would have made a better decision than Peterman.
His sideline demeanor also makes him look foolish. It might be appropriate on the sidelines of an SEC team, but right now Jones is coaching the Special Olympics.
As far as his "improvements"...there are no more cupcakes left on the schedule. Increased buzz around the program? Helluva lot of empty seats last Saturday. Sure, he's an improvement over Dooley, but even Shula would be.
If Jones can find three more wins on that schedule, he should be the national fricking coach of the year.
Come back in eight weeks...it's coming. And they could even hit nine.

I would love for him to somehow navigate his way to a bowl this year.

Mizzou, Auburn, Vandy and UK are winnable games. Not saying we do win all 4 but it's not out of the question.

All four are "winnable," the only one we'll be favored in is UK.
Crazier things have happened, but a bowl game seems pretty far fetched right now.

We will fill our final 6 spots with 4* players, rating will be much higher than any class Dooley had.

Oh, I agree. We will be lucky to win 2 of those with Worley still under center. I'm crossing my fingers that Butch has a plan for Ferg or Dobbs to step in after the SCe game. Kinda like the Simms/Bray transition. With competent QB play, those 4 are most definitely winnable. Jmo

The caliber of player is a bit different. Not all four starts are equal.
for 2014 we have..
7 guys in the Top247.
10 guys in the ESPN top 300.
As opposed to the past few years, where we may have had 10 four stars, but 8 of the 10 were outside of the national rankings.

Agreed. Offer lists of our commitments are much better too. Most of the 4* Dooley would pull out of state didn't have offers from their big state school, which typically makes me skeptical.
