Except the late movement (last few minutes). I used to do pretty well by following live line moves.

Complete and utter BS (not to be rude).

Let me explain, when "Vegas" puts a line out it's NOT what "they" think, it's what YOU (not really you but most of the public) think. It's ONLY perception.

One of the most knowledgeable at this is Danny Sheridan. He has been a professional oddsmaker for a very long time. He makes (and charges if you are lucky enough to get in which is almost impossible, like a big hedge fund on Wall St.) picks and ALWAYS goes with underdogs because that is always where the value will be. Some dogs he will give out on the air to win straight up and will tell you that they OUGHT to be favored but can't due to public perception. Wrong teams are favored all the time. How do you think "Vegas" has turned into a massive behemoth? ;)

I use air quotes with "Vegas" because most lines ORIGINATE offshore now in this Internet age we live in.

The only way to make a profit in this game is finding value and discrepancies in market prices (lines). That USUALLY means going against the grain / public. No different than being a successful investor in stocks, bonds or commodities.

Hope this helps...

BTW, I've got the UGA / Miss St game as a coin flip.
