You mean they found 1/83 players who didn't like their coach?! This is ground breaking...

Moron.

The fact that even one would speak out this long after says a lot. That we're even hearing about says a lot - remember Vandy isn't exactly covered like other SEC schools. The only thing he's telling us we didn't already know is that he liked to make excuses/blame players and cry. Basically, that he was an emotional manipulator which is a damn shitty thing to do to players. People tend to think a grown man crying is expressing sincerity because we don't see it a lot and quite frankly it's disturbing as hell he could and would turn it on turn it on like that to convince his players he was staying when he could've told them he was looking at his options or even dissembled and written it off to 'coaches have to look around from time to time in order to get better contracts from their schools, you'll learn that when you reach the pros, it's nothing to worry about, just part of the game.' Or given them some other non-committal response that still added up to 'nothing to worry about, I have every intention of staying put.'

It's not that hard to either be honest or give them an answer that's either non-committal or one where you can say "I just can't pass this up." All it requires is a bit of maturity - that and not having a some weird pathology to where you prefer emotional manipulation that's above and beyond others who might occasionally engage in it.

And make no mistake, crying several times in a situation like this (basically whenever confronted with the truth) is just flat out manipulation. He'll fit in with Urbz in more ways than one - that's for sure.

Yeah, Franklin is one of those coaches that you're glad are yours as long as they're winning, but everyone knows is pretty much an arse.

From what Ive heard, a lot of the other coaches in the SEC didnt like him. He was very two faced with them and constantly lied and was the biggest negative recruiter

If I recall correctly Franklin didn't like the way one of our players played/acted. So Franklin got up in the players face yelling at him. This action disturbed Mama Grantham and the older Bear mother went and protected her cub.

That was the one thing I will actively defend Grantham on. He stood up for his player. Franklin was being an immature arse.

Franklin handled the Penn State situation very poorly.Very poorly.

Still he took over a program in 2011 that had gone 2-10 the year before with only one winning season since 1982.He made the team believe in itself and gave the few loyal fans something to be proud of and has given Mason a pretty good foundation to build on.
