We will destroy USU. Utah State lost more starters than we did last year, Keaton is coming off a torn ACL, and we are bigger, faster, and more talented than the Aggies at every position. This is Just like last year when everyone said western Kentucky was gonna come in and beat us, or NC state the year before. We will smash them

UT lays waste to their souls in Neyland this Sunday night.

The carnage will warrant an "R" rating.

I've got the mini-Utes winning this game in the pick 'em. It won't be an upset, IMO.

This. Will be the best player on the field.

I can't imagine he won't be hesitant at first (which is where we can really capitalize) coming off those injuries. He tore both his MCL and ACL and this will be his first game back - they've held him out of spring and a lot of practices.

Of course with our luck he'll be better than ever but it's hard to imagine that he'll not be a bit more timid with his runs until he learns to trust that knee again. That's usually the biggest problem after athletes heal from knee issues - they've got to learn to have faith in their knee again.

No team has ever played their hearts out more than 2010 Tennessee against LSU, and no player has ever played their heart out more than janzen Jackson did in 2010 against LSU.

They played their hearts out that game for sure but the game we played against UGA last year was something to behold. I've never been so damn proud of a team after a loss - never.

Janzen was a baller but his head was just too messed up to stay but at the time he was still in the phase where it looked more like a bad attitude/character issue thing. I think a lot of people let him down after he left UT - not on purpose but just because they didn't understand what was happening which is typical for untrained layman - but Janzen was at the age and showing the signs of severe mental illness. Even though he was only here for a season, I find it tragic that not only was he showing signs for years after he left but his mom called the Health Dept. for an eval and nothing was done. The man he strangled shouldn't have died and Janzen should've been forced into treatment. If we'd had a competent mental health care system I don't think it would've happened. Instead a man dead, a family left in tatters, and a young man who very much appears to be mentally ill is gonna be locked up forever. None of that had to happen.

Such a sad story for Janzen, his victim, and everyone.

The fact that we're even discussing this is indisputable evidence of the shitbucket that has emerged in Knoxville.

Don't know much about USU, eh? Since Chuckie's been there they've knocked off or nearly knocked powerhouse teams that were not in a bad period.

Does it not show how far Tennessee's program has fallen to be a 6 point favorite AT HOME against Utah State?? I mean Florida doesn't have much room to talk, but we're a 35 point favorite against Idaho. But man, a 6 point favorite at home against Utah State is mind-boggling for a once proud program.

I realize that. But if UT had their shite together we both know we wouldn't even be discussing this.

Didn't Auburn have to score twice in the last 2 minutes to beat them about two years ago?

They beat our arse the entire game. We had a couple of athletes step up and score for us so we didn't lose. It was the most embarrased I have ever been leaving JHS after a game

Sure but you know how it is - experts rate you on the last year and the stats produced, particularly early on but especially when you're using professional algorithims. Vegas is betting the numbers this game not on who will win - they want even bets across the board and lower or raise a spread to get bettors to go towards one team or another where there aren't enough bets because they're unable to predict it in a way they feel comfortable. It's a wash game for them.

That said, I don't think it will be anywhere near that close.

However, whenever Vegas says 6-7 pts that means they don't know. It's the standard spread given to the home team when you haven't the foggiest idea of how to predict it. THAT's what's up with that spread more than anything else - they use numbers and models (they're not analyzing teams but stats) and the model is giving them the equivalent of "who knows."

We've got to earn it on the field before we get any benefit of the doubt. I have no problem with that either. Sucks but that's just the way it is when you've been down 4 years in a row.

I'm not so sure. Given how they played Auburn, I'd be wary of them even if we had gone 10-2 last year. It's difficult to deal with a guy like Chuckie because he's so good with his legs - he has a lot of Manziel in him and improvises. It's hard to game plan around someone who improvises like that.
