Should be an interesting and competitive matchup, both programs are hungry to return to prominence. At this point it looks to be a toss up.

Jeff Driskel is 6'3 and 240....some wr? Man....the Smokey Mountain College for the Dental Impaired always sticks out their chest before game with us.

BTW Driskel won the Elite 11 competition amongst the best qbs in the country...impressed the coaches and staff with his note taking and being totally focused. Just saying. Driskels biggest problem is being too hyped up and trying to win the game...needs to let game come to him and learn to lean more on the other 10 guys....a common true frosh mistake. Watch his long run in the All American ESPN game against the countrys best high schoolers and check out his wheels and arm strength.

Dont care what he did in highschool games. Simple Jeff does not have it between the ears to play QB in the SEC.

Just a tad curious how you came to that conclusion. Did you tutor him at some point? Review some of his essays? Discuss quantum physics with him?

No. I've said before Simple Jeff is the white Jamarcus Russell.

And learn how to quote. It is not that difficult.

Agree that it'll be a pretty even matchup and a significant one for both teams.

No doubt UT has some good talent but how much pressure UF can put on Bray and his response will be the thing i'm looking foward to seeing.

I'm excited for this one

Everyone keeps mentioning how easily Florida won last year...

Does anyone remember our best player going down on the third play from scrimmage?

Prior to that, we had a 10 yd run up the middle. And Hunter ran a stop route for another first down. When Hunter goes down, the whole team (coaches included) fell apart. At that point, Rogers was talented but was in no way our go to star receiver. And that also forced us to rely on Arnett (fr) and zach rodgers as the #2 and #3 wr's. Hunter going down was a complete game changer.

This year I think this is a close match-up, but I think UT has just a few more advantages/weapons. Run game might be the key factor, but i really think this one comes down to turnovers. If Bray doesn't turn the ball over this one might get ugly in the favor of the Vols. Too much big play potential!

My early prediction:
Florida 17
Tennessee 34

If UT scores 34 points and wins by 2+ TD's I will happily not post here for a month.

UT can't run the ball. UT has an average at best defense. UT's special teams are still only medicore.

What UT needs is help. Bray and the WR's need some other unit on the team to step up in help, specifically on the LOS, where UT has just been whipped the last 5-6 years by Florida.

Screw the whole season because some Auburn fan claims that the UF QB sucks because of his keen sense of empirical observation.

We're fricked.

UT vs Florida 2011

Watching the replay of this game, you can see some blaring differences in the two teams.

Here is a list:
-Florida's Off. is fundamentally sound.
-UT's Def. has matchup issues with UF in the secondary.
-Florida has more talent than UT currently.
-UT mised a lot of tackles this game plus Key assignments.
-Florida's Defensive front 7 overpowered the UT offensive line.
-UT has great front 7 but have trouble running from sideline to sideline because the secondary doesnt contain edge by playing the run very well.

Keys for UT to win the game
-Use the pass to set up the run. UF's defense is so tough up front that they need to utilize Bray's passing ability to get the defense on their heals. This will open up draws, counters, and more opertunity for the UT offense.

-Utilize quick and effective throws. UF did this against them last year. There were glaring match up problems and the secondary and Brantly took advantage of it. UT has the wide recievers to do this.

-Defense will win the game for UT. UT has to slow down the the speed of the florida offense. You do this by punching then in the mouth.

-Be more physical and win on both sides of the ball. DB's must be fundamentally sound and stay on their man. It will get ugly quick if they blow assignmnents.

-If UT plays mistake free football and are fundamentally sound the entire game then they have a chance. UT has to hold UF 21 or less to win the game.

Bottom line = UT needs to win the battle at the LOS.
