"I will not be the coach at Alabama"...little nicky.

So it's wrong for Urban to speak honestly, but perfectly fine for little nicky to LIE on air.
Got it.

Where in my post did I say it was okay for Saban to lie about coming to Bama? I was giving my opinion that it would be a slap in the face to Florida to hear your coach say another job is his dream job. Some things you keep quiet in my opinion.

I 100% support Florida getting slapped in the face.

that means nothing

It does, if you actually listened to the interview. He said he is not going anywhere while his kids are in school. His youngest one hasn't even started middle school yet, you are at least talking six/seven years down the line. With that amount of time, anything can happen.

Remember how happy Bobby Petrino was in Louisville? How his kids wanted to go to school in the city and he wasn't going to leave?

Yeah...

Serious question NPS Gator,
What is UM's connection to ND. Why is it his dream job?

No, If he is going to leave, it is going to be down the line, like he said. ND contacted him and turned them down again. They would of fired fat arse in a New York minute for Meyer. Down the line, you never know, but in the near future, no.

Meyer has already said no to ND twice. Once when both UF and ND were looking for coaches, and then they called him again this year and once again he told them no. ND may be his dream job, and that is fine, but he knows right now UF is the best job and that is what is keeping him there until his kids are done with school. He has said this many many times.

ND might get SOME flak, but for crying out loud, they're due a good coach and i doubt anyone would really blame them for doing what it takes. It's business. And it's not like Weis is going to be a beggar when he gets fired.

I guess you are right...its business but its suppose to be college. Bama changed that when they hired $aban. YOU SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO BUY A CHAMPIONSHIP IN COLLEGE. IMHO

Why? Winning gets you more money. More money = more weapons (like awesome facilities or higher paid coaches). More weapons = easier to win. But each college started somewhere. It's UTTERLY fair for a college with more money to USE that because they -earned- that.

Money itself is just an idea. The numbers in a bank account and the greenbacks are just an IDEA of worth. The paper and number on the paper are worthless in and of themselves.

Sure there are plenty of ways money can be seen as evil and wrong... because it IS the root of tons of evil. BUT BUT BUT, in college football, money doesn't taint the win... at least nothing like in the NFL.

What's the rough %'s on college players that actually get into the NFL draft? Anyway, those chances are really REALLY small. So, wins and losses are everything to those guys. The coach you pay millions for could flop or could do great. The money itself is just one ingredient in an enormous equation.

Does anyone really think that Meyer is wedded to Florida...or Saban to Bama? If you do, you're either stupid or very naive. Their hearts aren't with those schools.
