My bet is that he wins the NC this year, and is somewhere in the ballpark next year. ND hires him at the end of next season if he isn't playing in the NCG.
Who is going to stop them next year? They're gonna be loaded. 3 NC's later, his legacy would be equal to Spurrier, even if he leaves for Notre Dame after next year.

Why would you leave sunny Florida for the shithole that South Bend is?
I guess I don't understand the allure to ND.
I know Gainesville isn't the best place in the world, but you're a short drive away from some pretty cool cities. South Bend is ugly, cold, and a short drive away from wonderful nasty arse Chicago.
Plus, you can get all the recruits you need at UF. May not be the case anymore with ND. At least on a consistent basis.

What's the big deal? Michigan is Les Miles' dream job.

If Urban had one ounce of since in his head he would of said that right now he is concentrating on his damn strong team.

Where as I agree with the geographical location of ND and the nasty weather... I hear this argument a TON. Can you imagine what it would be like growing up as a Notre Dame fan, watching the movie Rudy, and then having that VERY team offer you millions to coach there? I would have a very hard time making the "right" professional choice for my career if I were blinded by my OWN home team asking me to coach... regardless of how bad a shape they were in.
Glory and emotions DO still count.

At least he wouldn't go to UGA!

If Meyer is crazy enough to go to ND when his kids are grown, more power to him. We survived Spurrier pulling a bitch move like that, and we will survive if Meyer pulls the same.

I been thinking Meyer will go to ND...as soon as he loses the services of one Tim Tebow.

Pretty dumb public statement at this point considering the Gators are playing for the national championship in less than a month.
and right in the middle of recruiting season. this gives more ammunition to opposing coaches...
"Meyer won't even be at Florida in two years. He keeps saying in interviews that he wants to be at Notre Dame..."
pretty dumb, imo.

NPSGator,
Congrats to y'all again on winning the SEC and here's to y'all beating the land thieves!
Regarding Spurrier, one of the reasons he did so great at Florida was because he LOVES Florida. It's his school and his "home" and why he had so much energy in bringing them to the top in the 90's. He got paid well to coach at the place he loves the most and that was something you can not put a dollar value on. Urban is a great coach but is not the same level as Spurrier. He's benefitting from what Steve Spurrier built up in Gainesville and is doing an incredible job, but the love for the school is not the same as what we all saw from Spurrier. He bleeds orange and blue and will till the day he dies.

For all the talk this has generated, has anybody posted an audio link or transcript of Meyer's supposed comments? I would think the national sports outlets would be all over this story considering the subject is headed to the national championship game and has a Heisman contending QB, but there has been nary a peep about it. I'd like to hear for myself, or at least read the full transcript.
Any verification?
BTW, I totally believe that Weis could have been given another year simply to allow Meyer the opportunity to coach Tebow another year and make a run for another NC. I believed this BEFORE I heard the Meyer comment story, I'm just looking for another piece of the puzzle.

After ND goes out to Hawaii and gets beat by them in their bowl game, the AD may just change his mind about Weis. UM may end up at ND sooner than you think.

WoW! IF he leaves for ND and wins another championship then Saban will be mad as HELL. With Saban's ego he will most certainly have to do something about that.
Bobby Hebert agrees, and I have a tendency to believe that about Saban also. He wan'ts to be noted as the greatest college coach of all time.

I hope he goes to ND.
I would love to see reddman choke on his own words.
Check the sig text.

Meyer and Notre Dame deserve each other.

CUM is a good coach, BUT without Tebow they have 1 or 2 more losses every yr
Hell, without Teblow they LOSE to bama, but I will be glad to see him out of the SEC, great recruiter.
