Do you think MSU should "deserve" to be 4th over one of the other teams you listed that would also have 1 loss but be a conference champion?
That was the question.
If you are asking me in particular, my fandom says yes, MSU deserves. But my purist side says Ohio State.
If it were Arkansas in the same boat, I'd say Arkansas should have beaten Bama.

If bama wins out then no. You guys played them in a playoff type game and lost already.

Upvote if Yes, an MSU win over Ole Miss makes MSU deserving of at least the No. 4 seed in the College Football Playoff
Let's see where everyone is on Dec 7 before determining that. m'k?

Well, as just a fan who sits and watches games I havne't been very impressed with OSU lately, and I think MSU is likely one of the 4 or 5 best teams in the country.
But I'm not on the committee. And if I had to guess I would assume they would give preference to conference champs, so I think OSU would have a leg up. Especially since their best win (MSU) is definitely better than MSU's, plus they will have just beaten a mid-ranked Wisconsin for their league title while MSU is sitting at home.

If your Bamafied brain were capable of reason you'd understand that it's of absolutely no benefit to LSU fans (or any school's fans) to cheer for the success of another in-conference program.
Use your head. It's not just there to be adorned by frayed caps with fish hooks on the bill.

No.
They are not that good.
They caught LSU early, got a bye week, then caught A&M coming off a struggle with Arky. They built up some momentum and fooled people into thinking they were a legit #1.
The first half against Bama showed about what they really are.
Of course, in State's delusional world, they probably think they had Alabama on the ropes. Or at least that is what they will tell their grandchildren one day.

Of course they do.
They will sit at home and prepare for a team they have already played and watch film about what worked and didn't work, while their opponent has to prepare for GA or MO.
If AL is lucky enough to win that game, they will have earned the right to face Miss St a second time and lose before even having a chance to win a national championship.
But, they will still be SEC champs, and that's all that really matters.

Why? Losing at home by 14 to a possibly not bowl eligible VT squad should disqualify them from even getting a contract bowl.

I said no because supposedly the biggest knock on Baylor and TCU if they stay 11-1 is that they didn't play in a conference championship game. Wouldn't that same argument then have to apply to Miss St?

Ok, fair enough. Then say Miss St., Baylor, And TCU all end up w/ only 1 loss. Baylor loss to WV, TCU loss to Baylor, and MSU loss to Bama. isn't obvious who should be in? Plus, Miss St has a much tougher schedule then either of the other teams.

space Wrangler was born in Starkville so I say yes! However, it will depend on what happens in other conferences and other teams. I would like to see state make it and think at an 11 and 1 record deserve to be in consideration. Head to head I think they are better than TCU and Baylorand would beat them on a neutral field.ohio State is the X Factor as I really think they are playing some very good football right now and could possibly make a run and win the whole damn thingas much as I despise Urban he is a damn good coach

I just don't want bama around anymore

The biggest knock on TCU and Baylor is that their SoS is pathetic. Has nothing to do with a conference championship.

Yes, but...I'm afraid,
DESERVES got nothing to do with it.
