The point is that you thought it was an upgrade last year and it wasn't.

Thank you, Mrs. Cleo.

Auburn won't have as many yards because of Nick Marshall's departure, but running backs will still be an upgrade.

ETA: And the only ones that thought Tre Mason was a product of the system were the idiots that didn't watch him rush for 1,000 yards under Scott Loeffler.

I expect our rushing yards to be even less this year.

Yup, your average ypc was down
In the SEC it was only down marginally while passing attempts and yards were up.

your record was a big downgrade.
We had a much tougher schedule and didn't get any breaks. While the records were significantly different between 2013 and 2014, the team wasn't that much different.

Great coaching....

From an offensive standpoint we had more yards and more yards per play against the SEC in 2014 compared to 2013 thanks to a more balanced attack.

if bama can get the same production out of somebody next year, then they will be in the playoffs again. but i dont think so.

OL: Upgrade

thats the group to watch. they are gonna have to be able to run somewhere besides behind BigCam. Plus, Sims wont be back there to erase their mistakes like last year.

It'll be interesting to see Auburn and Alabama's offensive lines next year.

Nick Marshall and Blake Sims made them both look better than they were in 2014, but now both teams are moving to more stationary quarterbacks that are not as elusive in the pocket.

My thoughts on Arkansas:

QB: Upgrade - Returning QB who is a 3rd year starter. Improvement is expected.

RB: Upgrade - Two 1100 yard rushers returning.

WR: Same - If Domonique Reed qualifies then probably upgrade but until then no change since we return 5 of our top 6 from an average unit last year.

TE: Upgrade - Return arguably the top TE in the SEC and signed the top TE class in the country with three different 4*'s.

OL: Upgrade - 4 starters returning and two 4* OL battling it out for the open spot.

DL: Downgrade - No way we'll be able to immediately replace the production of Flowers and Philon

LB: Dowgrade - See above but insert Spaight. I do think Randy Ramsey at SLB will be our surprise player on D this year.

DB: Upgrade - Top 3 CB's returning and 2 of our 3 main safeties coming back. The group should be much better with continued reps.

K: Same - Can't get worse and I won't buy in until I see improvement.

P: Downgrade - Brought in an Army All-American punter so it could be an improvement but Sam Irwin-Hill will be a tough replacement early.

KR - Upgade - Keon Hatcher was probably the worst KR I've seen here in a decade. Anyone they trot out there will probably be an upgrade.

PR: Upgrade - Jared Cornelius looked great once he took over on the back half of the season. He should only improve as he gets more reps. Keep an eye on JoJo Robinson here as well.

Alabama has great pieces to build the 2015 offensive line around. It doesn't get much better than the anchor at LT in Cam Robinson. He played better than I could have hoped in 2014. He looked better than Cyrus Kouandjio ever did in two years as a starter. Then there is Ryan Kelly at Center. He sets the tone up front with his calls. Shank Taylor should fill in at RG. He had two starts in 2014.

Arie will be difficult to replace at LG. He had a tremendous senior season and will be a solid NFL player. I expect one of the young guys to take over at LG. I like Casher or Hassenauer there, but the senior Luatua could surprise. I wouldn't count Bozeman out either. He started at Center while Kelly missed a few games last year. I think RT is down to Grant Hill and Dom Jackson. Grant had a bout of mono last year. Hopefully he gets his weight back up. The talent is definitely there.

My final prediction entering spring ball.

LT - Cam Robinson
LG - Josh Casher
C - Ryan Kelly
RG - Shank Taylor
RT - Dom Jackson

yeah, lots of new faces. Is Kozan coming back? Golson should be a good player for yall. For bama, Cam Robinson looks like Chris Samuels and then it's a bunch of question marks.

You mean Robinson and Kelly, then question marks. Kelly is entering his third year as a starter.

yeah, i thought about Kelly. He's been around a long time and definitely knows the scheme. But his strength and run blocking has been concerning at times.

He is a poor man's Barrett Jones, but a solid player to build the interior offensive line around in 2015.

Delusion is the portion of the tiger rant that believes Alabama is in decline at 12-2 and SEC champs, but LSU is on the cusp of something great at 8-5 and in the midst of a four game losing streak to Alabama. Oh, and that the offense is suddenly going to hit its stride.
