Rpi doesn't take margin of victory into account

So Kansas moves ahead of Kentucky by beating a team Kentucky also beat

RPI takes SOS too much into consideration. I could see half of the score being taken into account but 3/4 is too much. JMO

Both of those pretty much the same as the NCAA site also.

Scores shouldn't be taken into account...Is it really that impressive beating crap teams by 30-50?

SOS is far more important IMO than what a team wins by.

They should do it somewhat like kenpom does it. Have diminishing returns for mov. I would have it: the higher the team is ranked, the more points would be allowed before DR starts.

Just like its been all year regardless of what South Carolina and Alabama fans briefly thought

Alabama still has a feasible chance, as does A&M.

I think it's UK, Arkansas, UGA, LSU, and one of Alabama/A&M/Ole Miss/Tennessee.

12-6, 2-3 currently.

UCLA and aTm are good wins I guess. Have some "good" losses. Their resume overall just seems so "blah". They'll certainly lose to UK so in your prediction they'd have to go 9-3 the rest of the way (including tonight). That seems highly, highly doubtful.
Compare their resume to Michigan State's really quickly and get back to me.

Their resume isn't great, but it's certainly good enough to be right on the bubble. As is Texas A&M's. I think Tennessee and Ole Miss would be on the wrong side of the bubble right now, but they'll bubble teams as well.

Now, of course, all of those teams will need strong finishes to keep their RPI in respectable range. That means holding serve at home and winning games like at Mississippi State, at Auburn, and at Vanderbilt. I think one of them will be able to do so.

I did not expect A&M to touch the 30s or be tied for 2nd in the SEC at this point in the season. I feel like we're playing with house money. If we finish .500 the rest of the way (not unrealistic at all) I think A&M is right on the bubble, somewhere the Ags haven't been since BK took over.

We had a chance with Kentucky.

Had leading scorer out vs Bama. Any reason at all to think Bama can beat us now?

Ags could easily be 5-1. Definitely a different team now.

It's not like that game was close, so yeah.

Listen, not saying A&M is close to the best team in the SEC.. but they aren't near the bottom either.

Yes, the Bama game was a blowout but it was close midway through the second half and Bama pulled away. It was at Bama, leading scorer out, etc...

Will play Bama soon enough. Will check back with you as it seems that you feel Bama will easily handle A&M again. Possible but I don't think so.

Wait, what? I didn't say that.

The two teams are pretty evenly matched. A&M is a little stronger down low. Bama's backcourt is a bit better. But of course Bama can beat A&M.

And not having Jones didn't seem to hurt A&M too much against Kentucky.

Bama beat aTm by 21, not 5

Seems as though there was more of an issue than just missing a player.
