Stoops is a solid coach. I think he would do well at the right school. No offense Kentucky fans.

11. Flat Tire
12. Stoop'O
13/14. Mizz Hire & Boom

Whadayagot?

Bert is way too high. He has a losing record through 3 years. How is Bert at 17-20 ranked ahead of Malzahn who is 26-13 over the same period of time? Gus is also 2-1 head-to-head against Bert, with the one loss coming this year in Fayetteville in 4OT.

Everyone wants to act like Bert has this amazing trajectory going on, but is 7-5 in year 3 really impressive? I fail to understand why Bert gets any credit for what he's done at Arkansas.

Bert took over a program that won just 4 games the year before he arrived, but 11 games the year before that. Gus took over an Auburn program that won just 3 games the year before he arrived, and just 8 games the year before that. By a wins/losses standpoint, Bert actually had more to work with than Gus.

I also do not understand the McElwain hype. The guy essentially repeated exactly what Muschamp did at Florida in his 2nd year, only McElwain did it in Year 1. Everyone knew that UF team was garbage back in 2012 despite having 11 wins. It's the same thing with Florida this year. No one in their right mind can watch Florida this year and be impressed despite their record.

Here is how it should look:

1. Saban
2. Miles
3. Freeze
4. Mullen
5. Jones
6. Gus
7. McElwain
8. Sumlin
9. Bert
10. Mason
11. Stoops

Too early to even rank Smart, Muschamp, and whoever Missouri's coach is. We shall see when they have something to work with at their current schools.

Do not agree with this yet but I can assure you that if he goes 10-15 (2-14 in conference) the first two years, he will be fired

it all makes sense now- a bama fan is doing ga's hiring and firing. no wonder kirby got the job.

that said, i would certainly hope that kirby's record is better than bert's after 2 years considering he's going to be coaching in the east and the situation at georgia he's walking into is perfectly stable since their long time coach just left and there was no interim for a year after some motorcycle crash in april, etc.

I don't get the love for Bert. Freeze and maybe even Mullen have done better at program that are as average as Arkansas.

My top 5 would be
Saban
Freeze
Mac
Mullen
Gus/Jones

Rail on Bert if you want. He has taken a dumpster fire and improved every year. Malzahn already knew his players and had them in place when he got there. Say Toledo and TT (many factors involved in this). You can't argue with the progress Bert has made. I think Malzahn is still dangerous and don't know where I'd put him but I would put Mullen, Freeze, Bert close together.

don't waste your fingertips on him- he posts about the hogs instead of his own team.

Because Malzahn has more talent to work with and has regressed each year

After what I've seen the past 3 yrs from both coaches, I have to put Bert ahead of Gus. That's strictly from an outsiders view of the product they put on the field.
