Pointless to rank first year coaches. If it's their first HC job, we have no data. If, like Champ, they used to have one, it's impossible to say whether experience outweighs the fact that they failed, so it's impossible to rank them at their new position.

Jones should be higher. i don't think he is as good a "coach" as some of these guys but his program management is going to make UT a force to be reckoned with.

If I were an AD, this is the order I would go after a new coach.

Saban
Bielema
Mullen
McElwain
Freeze
Miles
Sumlin
Jones
Smart
Malzahn
Muschamp
Mason
Stoops
Odom
