If Henry loses, it will be because every idiot with access to Twitter has been screaming about how awful the SEC is this year, and SEC fatigue is a real thing.

Seriously though, it's a massive propaganda machine, both in favor of our guy and against our guy. He's a great RB by everyone's definition - until it comes time to give out awards for it.

That said, he played stouter defenses while the Stanford kid had some impressive numbers. No idea how many return yards Henry would have had if he had actually returned kicks, but I can assure you we didn't see NEARLY as many kickoffs to actually return as Stanford did.

There is this though:

Stanford faced 5 defenses ranked worse than the worst defense Alabama faced.

Stanford's opponents were the 8th worst overall in touchback % and 5th worst overall in yardage on kickoffs.

LINK

Stanford has 66 kickoffs back to them to Alabama's 49. 3 kicks were OOB, 1 onside, and 14 touchbacks against Bama, leaving 31 returnable kicks. Stanford faced 0 OOB, 2 onsides and 14 touchbacks for 50 returnable kicks and an average significantly shorter than Bama's opponents.

Sounds like he's getting a lot of credit for facing several noodle-legged kickers in the PAC.

Evan Berry is the best return guy in CFB, followed by Morgan Burns (KSU) and those two guys are head and shoulders above everyone else.

But yeah, let that "slightly better than a touchback" average he has going for him be the cause for his trophy win.

SI & CBS Sports have Watson winning it. Should be close.

While I think any of the 3 are deserving, the CBS Sports poll is slanted heavily by 2 of the voters. They vote the top 5 players with points being awarded 5-4-3-2-1...of the 6 voters, Henry has the most first place votes (3), followed by Watson (2), and McCaffrey (1). But two of the voters had Henry at #5...can't see any reasonable ballot that doesn't have him (or McCaffrey either for that matter) in the top 3...
