Former #Raiders WR Henry Ruggs is accused of driving 156 mph seconds before the crash. He was at 127mph when airbags deployed. His blood alcohol level was .161, which is more than twice the legal limit. A loaded gun was also found in the car.

That's not necessarily true. Rod Bramblett (the Auburn radio commentator) and his wife, Paula, were hit from behind and killed in a crash in 2019. They both were wearing their seatbelts.

I think the point is at one point he was driving 156 before the collision. Either way the guy is BIG fricked and rightfully so

Yep, and very similar situation. Drunk teen slams into their car at a stoplight. Kid was driving around 90 at impact IIRC. They both were wearing seatbelts but died from internal injuries. If Ruggs was driving 127 at impact, she very easily could have died at impact, which is all I hope under the circumstances. I pray that she didn't burn alive.

He's going to get atleast 10 years easy if he pleads pending this info is true. If this goes to trial he's going for the whole 20.

Just a terrible situation that really could have been avoided.

My prayers to the victim and her family

Thought this was normal behavior when you didn't grow up in air conditioning.

We had one in TN where a truck driver hit a woman in a stopped car from behind going less than 30mph, she was wearing her seatbelt, and died instantly.

Hell you can get hit in the chest at a certain point during your heart beat and die instantly. Human life is fragile.

Side point: It’s crazy how many of our ancestors skirted death for us to be here right now

At least he waited until after he left Tuscaloosa sparing someone's life in Alabama

Unbelievable!
Deserves the max sentence

Maybe he thought the car couldn't go as fast as he can run

You'd think she would at least have been knocked out.

Damn this whole situation is terrible.
