You just never know. It's a game of emotion. The best team loses a LOT. And lets face it, the quality of play this year is way down for some reason.

bowl games outside of the National Championship there is always one team that cares, one that doesn't.
If a SEC team like LSU or Miss. State win this week..great..you were supposed to win...if not..what's really lost?

Alabama did not give a shite about either of those games. Alabama is about National Championships or bust. Nothing else matters.

No kidding. GT is playing in the same bowl game. And - according to your theory - GT players don't care about the game because it's not the National Championship. And yet they are waxing MSU's arse. Which means, yeah, they would have curb stomped MSU in October when GT players really cared.
And yeah, Georgia players didn't care about the Belk Bowl and still dominated. How's about LSU?
