Actually this past season....
Clowney obviously was the highest NFL draft pick, but he wasn't the SEC pick for DPOY in 2013. I am sure this isn't bothering him in the least.
For whatever reason, Clowney seemed to slack off his effort in 2013. Fortunately, for him, it did not hurt his draft stock.

So Sam produces better results on the field, and is rewarded for it. Then he admits he's gay and clowney is miraculously better. Odd

Or... Clowney was always better, no matter the results on the field, and is rewarded for it by being picked first overall? And Sam being gay has nothing to do with it. Sam is too slow, weak and small to be an every down DE in the NFL and he is way too stiff to attempt to move back to LB. He has a great passion and drive for the game of football, which helped him shine one year in college... in the pros that is not going to be enough.
