If memory serves you're pretty old, so this post is surprising from you, but we went overseas as well. Ever heard of charley trippi? One of the greatest UGA players of all time? There's a reason there's a gap in his playing career in the 40s at UGA despite being an All American...I'll let you figure out why.

Also, look up our record in 1917 and 1918. Oh wait, you won't find any. Because we had no team. Because our boys were at war. So your "UGA took advantage of us and are yellow bellied commies!" routine falls short, since we definitely abandoned football when it was necessary.

And you beat us 75-0 when we had no real team....how proud you must be

did you put players on the field? Then it counts. Kinda like how yall try to puss your way out of the 1904 game. Disgraceful.

Spurrier was told the story back in 1963 when he first arrived at UF as a frosh and he never forgot it....everytime he kicked your azzs in the 1990s he relished the thought of payback

LOL. Spurrier hated us because in 1966 we absolutely wore the dog shite out of him and cost him a national title. Bill stanfill still gives spurrier nighmares. Spurrier should count his blessings that by the time he rose to prominence as a UF head coach all he had to face was goff and donnan. Talk about unfair..

You must be quite proud of UGAs record in the 1940s when their football team stayed on campus while UF and the rest of the SEC went overseas to fight WW2. And you beat us 75-0 when we had no real team....how proud you must be. Every damn game from 1941-45 should be forfeited by the leghumpers

There's a lot of misinformation there, but even if we forfeited every game from 41-45 my post is still entirely accurate.

-More total wins
-Better head to head record
-More SEC titles

Not sure why you responded to me since my post is still 100% accurate even in your fantasy land where UGA forfeits every game from 41-45.

George Mira was the QB of that Miami team I think. They weren't horrible.

Nope. Mira played from 1961-1963.

From 1954-1968 there were 17 Appointed Conference Games. Media guide says 16 but there were 17. In 1964, Miami was Tulane's appointed game. Why weren't they UGA's in 1966?

*APPOINTED CONFERENCE GAMES
While the SEC rule requiring six football games with member schools was in effect, 16 games with outside schools were appointed to serve as conference games to avoid a
violation for the members. The won-lost records of these games are included in the annual conference standings, but the results are not included in the conference point totals.
1954 – Ole Miss vs. Arkansas, 0-6
1958 – Ole Miss vs. Houston, 56-7
1964 – Tulane vs. Miami, 0-21
1965 – Georgia vs. Clemson, 23-9
Tennessee vs. S. Carolina, 24-3
1966 – Florida vs. Tulane, 31-10
Georgia vs. N. Carolina, 28-3
LSU vs. Tulane, 21-7
Tennessee vs. S. Carolina, 29-17
Vanderbilt vs. Tulane, 12-13
1967 – Georgia vs. Clemson, 24-17
Vanderbilt vs. Tulane, 14-27
1968 – Florida vs. Tulane, 24-3
LSU vs. TCU, 10-7
LSU vs. Tulane, 34-10
Mississippi State vs. Tex. Tech, 28-28
Vanderbilt vs. Tulane, 21-7

LSU played the same number (4) of SWC teams in 1968 as SEC.

LOL!!...Spurrier?? - Bill Stanfill says he screamed like a baby pig everytime he sacked him (see link). Gotta link on where the Georgia players stayed behind in the 40's to play ball and the rest of the SEC fought in WW2...or is that just hearsay?

and an SEC title

and we got him fired from his first (or one of his 1st) coaching jobs when we wore the Nerds out - they ran off Pepper and his whole staff. Including SOS

Florida could have gone undefeated and unscored on in 1966 and finished no better than fourth. Behind ND, Michigan State, and undefeated two time NC Alabama. They were 0-2 in the UGA, UF, Miami round robin. Didn't even finish in the Top 10. The round robin is another reason that Miami should have been UGA's appointed conference game.
