I know their fan base cringes when he goes into Mizzou thread after Mizzou thread displaying his inferiority complex day after day.

I am almost, almost, to the point of feeling sorry for him honestly.

Well, I resisted commenting about Missouri's shittiness for about 18 pages

i personally like michael bennett and chris conley better but TK showed a lot with the MSU game. and Malcom Mitchell will get a few snaps, probably a lot more now if most the guys are coming back and swann can fill in more.

He is a little kid just poking around at the big boys table. Just let him go. He will tire himself out soon enough.

Lol. You can be "out to prove a point" all day long, but you have to actually have talent to win games in this conference.

Get some help bro, seriously.

I like Conley and Bennett as well, I just feel like King gets the nod, especially early in the season. I think he's had an under appreciated career. He's generally been very solid

i agree i wouldn't argue it at all. i think this is the deepest WR corp we have ever had or at least it's up there with the best

Sigh. OK, I will give you guys a shot.

My first pick: Mizzou cornerback E.J. Gaines. He was an all-Big 12 performer last season in a league that is much more pass-happy than the SEC, and was left on an island by himself often and knocked down like 18 balls which was a Mizzou record. Coach Pinkel and our staff really think he may be becoming the best cornerback they've ever had. Those are strong words, so I'd turn it over to you and ask, which UGA receiver is Gaines going to cover, and what will be the result of the matchup? We can do this one by one if you people really want to, I'm fine with it.
Everything I've read on Gaines is good. Can't say I've watched him play, but he seems like an All-SEC caliber guy to me. With the switch of Mitchell to corner, I would imagine our new number one guy is Tavarres King, who had a solid year last year and apparently a strong spring. We don't really have standout wideouts going into the year, but we have great depth at the position with 3 other quality guys who are great targets. Provided our O-Line can block for Murray, I don't think any one shutdown corner would be much of an issue.

I'm interested in seeing our offensive gameplan against yall. Losing Crowell hurts our run game for sure, but I don't know if we are going to try to pound the ball inside or really open it up for Murray. Depends a lot on our offense. We did a lot of no huddle with the shotgun last year to buy Murray some time to throw the ball.

I know it will seem strange but we did well stopping the run between the tackles last year. Teams exposed us a bit with outside run and counters and that is where we desperately need to get more athletic with our outside Linebackers and safeties.

Faurot Field, ya, you're right, not very alluring.

But Columbia is a nice college town, I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised.

I realize you talk out of your arse 90% of the time and this post really wasn't worth a dignified response.

I think our offense this year to be a lot more traditional pro style with downhill running and play action. The style of Malcome and Gurley allows for that

I hope so, I'm just not sold on our line yet. I'm confident in every other position group, but a good oline is very important in the SEC. It might not be an issue against most teams we play, but if we want a chance to even compete with LSU or Bama if we make the SECCG, we're going to have to get some solid blocking. Can't just run Murray out of the gun.

i gotta disagree, our OL isn't nearly good enough for that, we'd be better suited to continue to spread teams out and use the pass to open up the run until we have a back prove themselves but mainly until our offensive line shows a propensity to blow people of the LOS as opposed to getting cock slapped every play

but this is mike bobo so really creativity and great gameplanning is off the table

Position by position:

QB: UGA

RB: UGA (Josey won't be ready)

WR: toss up

TE: UGA

O.line: toss up

d.line: UGA

LB's: UGA

Secondary: UGA (depends on suspensions)

Special teams: Mizzou

fwiw I think Mizzou wins in between 7 and 10 games.

I am going to be sneaking a peek at the televised games with Texas A&M with week one...Mizzou & UGA on week two will be interesting because we play both later on. If Rambo is playing...he presents a lot of problems on offense & of course the OLB Jarvis Jones is a beast and really caused UF to lose game last year imho. Mizzou Im not that familiar with...so will want to see how they play on both sides of the ball.
We play at Kyle Field in week two and of course everyone will want to see how we/they do. UF will be a junior dominated team overall and last year was soph heavy. You need upperclassmen to win a lot of games.
UGA will need to protect Murray and may have to play max protect and have fewer wrs out. If he is injured the season is down the draino. I will watch blocking schemes on passing downs and also watch the rbs a lot to see if they pick up blocks. Crowell honestly could have put Murray in the hospital against Boise. Its tough for any true frosh to come in and play bigtime football and learn all the techniques and block well. The natural ability Crowell has a runner showed a few times in the Boise game...but he whiffed a block and cost UGA a TD.
Tavares King is a possession wr and you never have enough of them....they can move chains. Not having Murrays high school battery mate will hurt some (Michigan State really bottled him up btw). If the run game doesnt get 140 or so yds in the Mizzou game UGA will be traveling back to Athens with an L unless they hold Mizzou under a 100 yds running.
