I am saying Uga could have the qb advantage this year even if your qb play is better than last year.

So you don't think UF will have the better QB in the game this year? Who is the backup QB this year if it's one of the guys who wasn't even as good as Treon then your putting a lot of stock in the freshmen.

Who will start for UF?

Del Rio. Easily. 2nd year in the system. Former elite 11 prospect.

Is it really that big of a stretch that Eason may be better than him? I know you didn't bring it up but I'll trust your opinion.

It's possible. Georgia will have good pieces around him. Probably a better ol than Florida. A lot of times a good team helps a qb look better.

You honestly just never know until the bullets start flying in league play.

Even though Del Rio has a ton of time in McElwain's system, his actual live game experience is extremely limited, and he has no SEC experience at all. He looked extremely well composed and decisive in the spring game. UF's defense had no chance against him. But again, that's spring.

Eason has a higher ceiling I would think also.

Florida without good QB play went 10-2 last year in the reg season. I doubt the QB play is worse.

UGA is a sleeper team. Think their ceiling is 9 wins, floor is 7 wins.

If TN doesn't win it this year, they aren't winning the East under Jones. He has had 1 really good class, the rest have been alright. This is their year to win it, but I doubt it happens.

I didn't watch all of y'all's games but from what I caught Grier seemed pretty good

With Treon all year y'all struggle to make a bowl game

Wow 10 games last year with our best player hurt, horrible QB play and an OC that was a complete disaster. We"ll be improved in every offensive position group.

Secondary will be very good but thin and front 7 has talent but is lacking experience.

10 wins is realistic depending on injuries.

This. I can't imagine a scenario where UT Doesn't make ATL, but if he doesn't vs. these UGA and UF teams this coming up year, he never will. And you hardly see a year where UGA or UF aren't expected to compete for the conference. Butch has a lot to prove this year.

Rude awakening compared to the ridiculously high expectations that Georgia fans in Atlanta have

I'm in Atlanta. Most of my friends are in Atlanta. A good many are Georgia fans. I don't see the "ridiculously high expectations" that you refer to. I do see a lot of optimism, most of directed to the future. And why wouldn't we be optimistic?

In the game at SC I think it was a different beast and more of just us getting a lead then playing down to the competition

Just for accuracy, the game was in Knoxville not @ SC. Hopefully, you will play down to the competition in Columbia (SC) again this year. Really, there was no excuse for playing a one-score game against Carolina last year. But, I guess the same could be said for Texas A&M and Clemson as well.

Of course UGA could have the QB advantage this year and UF could kill UGA by even more then they did last year . I am asking do you actually think UGA will have the QB advantage . It's as simple as yes or no. I think UF will have QB advantage in the game. Del rio has had a year in the current system with the current staff , he is a coaches son which I think will help ,his head coach is a offensive guy and he also gets to play against the weaker defense IMO.

And Georgia is worlds better at QB this year than Bauta.

What does UGAs QB depth chart look like this year compared to last year? I know they have the super freshmen but who else did they get for this year?

Eason is more talented, he could have 8 games under his belt just the same, and he might have the better supporting cast, so I would lean his way.

Right, UF did not win the East with poor QB play. They built their season when they had good QB play. After Grier was gone they were utter garbage and would have had zero chance at the East without him.

First of all for the uninformed, Jake Del Rio was a transfer and HAD to sit out last or he would have played. We also have Appleby the senior QB from Purdue and although his stats are not eye popping because of picks....you have to consider the help he had around him wasnt overwhelming.

UGA's problem is that their defense is gutted and it wasnt that good last year. Lorenzo Carter and Trenton Thompson are good ones but the DL & LBs are depleted and teams will run against Jawja. You dont win the SEC with just QB play...you must have a strong defense.

Trotting out a true frosh QB in the SEC is like blood in the water for sharks...Eason should sit for his own good but go ahead and waste a year. Answer me this riddle...who the hell is going to catch the ball?

UGA needs to rebuild their defense in a hurry or rely on offense and lose games with high scores and keep fans entertained when the team goes down 38-27.

Bauta was our 3rd string QB having his first start last year. By the time we play Florida this year it should be something like:

Eason
Lambert
Ramsey

Even a little raw, Eason should be head and shoulders above Bauta.
