And also with Mark Richt as the head coach, who at this point, is a better and more proven head coach than Kirby Smart

Well, I guess this means we'll turn to our senior veteran to get the job done.

Richt is here = richt always underachieves and uga will never win big with him

richt is fired = uga can't possibly win 10 games now that richt isn't there

rival fans need to make up your damn minds

If Smart actually lets Chaney call plays... Thoughts and prayers. They'll see some mind numbing WTF shite. Then again, that may have been a personnel issue at Arkansas (?).

That having been said, UGA could win the East. It's the East, anything can happen.

I never said that. Georgia is a program that can be very dangerous. I think it's going to take time and y'all are probably going to take a step back before you take a step forward

Sorry about that. I'll take a break. It has been beat into the ground a bit.

Auburn didn't have to rely on a true freshman QB in 13. The speed on a SEC defense will be too much for a true freshman QB.

Again, Georgia has no chance at the east title with a true freshman QB.

there are three teams in the east. UGA is one of them. any of the three can win it.

Smart is a new HC. I would have to bet that one of the other two teams will win the east even tho UGA is probably the most talented.

My concerns about UGA, a team with quite a bit of talent, is that they have a first year head coach and their OC has a noted tendency to shoot himself in the dick.

Smart might wind up being a great HC, but until he, or for that matter Mizzou's new HC Odom, actually handle the job for a full year people will naturally be leery about putting too much credence in them. A lot of great assistants can't make the step up to HC. We will see.

As for Chaney maybe he did learn his lesson from being eased out the door by Bert. Maybe he didn't. His play calling could be... unusual at times and the man displayed a noted tendency to abandon the run (even if it had been working just fine) and go full on air raid in close games.

With a freshman QB suddenly dumping the entire weight of the offensive production on his shoulder in a close game is not a plan that inspires confidence.

If Smart can settle things down and keep Chaney from panicking at the end of games then Georgia should do very well.

this is just stupid.

It's improbable but there is a chance.

Quit saying stupid shite.

Teams win divisions. It is absolutely possible for a team with a true freshman QB to win a division.

-they were also coming off a 3-9 season (0-8).
-they were starting a QB in his first year at that level of competition that was recruited out of Hs as a cornerback
-their 2 biggest rivals combined the previous year to go 25-3 (winning both division) and combined to outscore auburn 87-ZERO
-they had a first year SEC HC who inherited a dumpster fire and ran a mickey mouse offense

I think it's safe to say teh cards were stacked agianst them too. But they still won the west.

UGA 2-1-4
@ Missouri - Toss Up
@Ole Miss - L
Tennessee - Toss Up
@SC - Toss Up
Vandy - W
Florida* - Toss Up
@Kentucky - W
Auburn - Toss up

Tennessee 4-0-4
Florida - Toss Up
@Georgia - Toss Up
@A&M - Toss Up
Bama - Toss Up
@SC - W
Missouri - W
UK - W
@Vandy - W

Florida 4-1-3
Kentucky - W
@ Tennessee - Toss Up
@Vanderbilt - W
LSU - L
Missouri - W
UGA* - Toss Up
@Arkansas - Toss Up
SC - W

In my opinion Florida definitely has the easiest home and away draw getting a lot of the middle East teams at home where UGA draws them on the road opening themselves with a young QB up to a lot more upset potential.

It is a lot more close then people want to make it out to be. The East race is going to be fun this year.

Chaney really is mind numbing with abandoning the run. It happens so fast, I think against UF one year we finished the game with like 20 straight pass plays when it was just a one score game.

very much so.

Also, I think this is VERY realistic. Not saying it'll happen, but it's not far fetched in the slightest.

UGA:
losses @OM and Florida

UT:
losses @UGA and Bama

FL:
losses to LSU, @UT, @ark

All extremely plausible and it would give UGA the east. And that would have UGA going 1-2 in it's 3 toughest games. We absolutely CAN win the east.

I've said it before but the reason that not a single UGA fan gives one single frick about how bad yall make him out to be, we take solace in knowing that he can't be worse than our previous OC. He's the worst one we've ever had, so literally anyone would be better by comparison.
