I'm assuming you didn't watch Herschel,Chubb,Gurley,Hampton or Hearst as freshmen.

Sorry. My punctuation was off. He's the only freshman who had the ability to dominate, had the chance to play and would constantly take himself out of games and refuse to return. Take that period away from the sentence you quoted and add it to the rest.

It never made any sense to me and I got angrier with those who tried to excuse it because he was a freshman. Freshman don't want to practice, but I've never seen any who could do what he did and not want to actually play. It was ridiculous.

He is one of the rare cases of college players who were totally lazy and a wimp who seemed to turn it around.

He somehow picked himself up and made a change. Good for him

Spice 1 said a nu nu gots no heart but he parlayed that into a pretty successful track off of the Menace II Society original motion picture soundtrack. Crowell was a nice little player. But his workload would have been drastically reduced because of depth at RB. How do I know this? Look around, son. Erry one tellin you.

Is it also true that Richt had to assign a coach to watch him almost all the time to make sure he went to class? That was a big rumor during his freshman year. If true, that's just asinine.

McGee (UGA rb coach) told me this summer that Crowell is as talented as any back on UGA's roster, Mcgee coached Crowell in high school. He also told me to watch out for Cook this year.

If you watch Last Chance U, you'll get an idea the disposition Crow had about himself. He lacked discipline, focus, and many other qualities to succeed in college.

Once those NFL checks started coming in, he knew the impact he could have on those people he cared for most. He buckled down and became the pro the state knew he could become.

Just too much of a knucklehead in college to be relied upon. But I'm happy he turned the corner and didn't totally waste his opportunity.

Seem to remember him having an ankle injury which sometimes takes awhile to heal. Could be wrong, but I don't think it was all an attitude problem.
