Oh really?
Cause last I heard, another team in your state did it and made $300 million from espn.

How many providers carry it?
How many households have bought it?
Exactly. ESPN isn't going to make a second $300 million mistake.

Assuming you are serious, the down years where your fans are missing are going to eat your alive... need the shared revenue.

FWIW, they started a TV network in addition to their conference TV requirements. They didn't drop out of a conference to live on that $300 million.

I live in Texas and have a major cable company. I still cannnot watch games on that channel unless I find a share or VPN into my work and watch it there.

And that channel has 'worked out' in as far as it helped destabilize yet another conference.

I know Georgia thinks it's special but let me tell you. I'm spending this week just up Lookout Mountain from Trenton and just past the hang gliding place. I have seen shite here that will get you thrown in jail in Mississippi. To start, down the mountain side is a dirtpit where every Joe Dirt motherfricker in Dade county Georgia showed up with their AR 15s, UZIs, SKSs, AK 47s, 44 mags and any number of other gun and blasted the shite out of bottles all day long. Discharging firearms anywhere near a public road in MS will get you the slammer. The cashiers at the Ingles in Trenton aren't any older than 15 and they all look to be on their 5th child.

What if UGA said "Screw This". Go independent. Start our own TV network. With the internet, it's more possible than ever to not leave out non-resident fans.

Excuse me...I couldnt quite understand your thread, could you please remove your head from your lower anatomy so that your thoughts make some sense? Oh....I get it...Jawja has five million tv sets...good luck with that pal. Four million of them will be tuned to soap operas/reruns of Judge Judy & Wheel of Fortune and another half a million tuned to Tru Tv watching Cops and seeing if anyone they know is being busted....the other half million are turned off while the family goes to Big Lots to buy furniture for the singlewide.
Great idea rig ...please submit that resignation letter right now could you? I know you dont wanna play in trashy old SECCG....your better than that crap

Not really sure what point you were trying to make with this post but you are in the top corner of the state that meets Alabama and Tennessee, so what did you expect.

Also I dont know what the frick deeprig is smoking but this is some of the dumbest shite I've ever read.

Bama is proud to be in the SEC. The SEC is not about any one or two teams. Its the conference as a whole that makes it great.

These aren't the exact stats I was looking for, but Bama and UGA are #1 and #2 in revenue.

UGA is #1 in conference in profit, #2 in the nation behind Texas.

Interesting enough, and an aside, Vanderbilt has more football revenue than Ole Miss.

This article is from 2011.... Forbes magazine.

let's look at more up-to-date stats:
2012 article

UGA is a top 15 program with a devoted market...they consistently don't meet the expectations (which are historically and unnecessarily high).

If you went independent, you would burn all ties to the SEC. Slive would not allow to schedule teams like UF and Auburn. You would scramble to fill a 12 game schedule with relevant teams for football alone. Not to mention your other 30 sports that your fan base largely ignores but bring in the only titles your school gets.

Within 5 years you would be forgotten in college football and assume the spot of SMU except it would be due to poor management and not NCAA sanctions. Go Dawgs...or whatever you ruhtards do.
