I really would like to see a UK-Louisville matchup and then Kentucky-UNC championship game. You really couldn't ask for a better set of basketball games than those two with all the storylines and history involved.

With Kendall Marshall out, I don't see UNC making it to the c'ship game. I have Kentucky vs. Kansas. That would still be a good matchup with two blue bloods.

We've already beat UNC and KU this season though.

I hate UF fans. Really I do.

UF had a pretty good team this year, nothing special.

They made a nice run to the elite 8, something that doesn't actually happen a lot to Florida and something that didn't happen at all Pre-Donovan other than one magical run.

And now people come out and complain about how super talented UF was and how UF should have won everything? With a 5'8 SG playing PG? With only 2 real post players worth anything?

Coooooome on. Enjoy a solid year.

I don't even know how Billy convinces blue chip prospects to come to Florida with our shitty fanbase over the likes of Duke, UNC, Kansas, and Kentucky. It's not even like the state of Florida is full of good basketball players. Most of them are highly overrated.

He can't just reload and contend every single year like those other programs. He has to basically recruit guys that will stay in college for several years and make a big run every 4-5 years. He did it in 2000. He did it in 2006. He came close in the last two years. He just had some unfortunate timing here where if he had anybody from his frontline last year (Parsons, Macklin, or Tyus) on this year's team, he'd have a championship caliber squad.

I can understand the frustration of losing as a fan, but if you're gonna come on here and complain about Donovan and your basketball program, then clearly you're never going to be satisified.

IMO UF has clearly had the best basketball program in the sec for the last 10 years. they have accomplished the most tourny wise because of the titles and billy d is why uf has been so good.

I agree heartbreak and people need to do some research on the Florida basketball program then come back and criticize Billy. And remember he built a powerhouse program the right way too. No cheating. Who else has done this recently at non basketball powerhouses? Probably 4, Billy, Coach K, Izzo and Lute Olsen.
I am not counting Calhoun or Boeheim because of all the controvery their programs are under.

So to all the Billy critics, you are right, it is all his fault we are so good. Ho Hum another top 10 finish for a Gator athletic program.

Do those elite 8 losses hurt? Damn right, they do.

That said, Billy is still one of the best in the business (and one of the classiest, I might add) and it's really incredible how he puts out the success he's had at UF basketball (not really a powerhouse by any means prior to his arrival).

Yesterday was frustrating and disappointing (and I rarely criticize BD unless warranted, Erving Walker on the other hand ...), but considering UF had deficiencies with a lack of big men all year, a FF appearance would've been great, but mostly icing on the cake. Figured a sweet 16/E8 or so for this team, and they got there.

Walker is tough as nails and the only one who stays aggressive on offense many times. He does dribble himself into trouble on occasion, but I will take a kid with his heart on my team every day! I think we will sorely miss Erv next year.

I probably posted that more out of frustration than anything... I've never been that more p/o about UF losing a basketball game, unless you count the time when #1 UF went to UK when Tubby was the coach, and got destroyed

With all the bitching I've heard the fanbase do the past day, you would think they would be more invested and sell out more home games, an NCAA tourney game or show up for the SEC tourney.

Still hurts that they were so close the Final Four both years and Beal and Boynton are probably going to be leaving.

Was pissed yesterday too. Last two seasons our team gutpunched us in their final game.

I'm as frustrated at the outcome of yesterday's games as any Gator fan but when you step back and look at it we had a solid year. Somewhere between great and good.

We were one PG and one PF away from great.

Giving up the big lead was not Billy's fault. The kids stopped attacking the lane. If Billy told them to stop being aggressive then it's on him. It just seemed like no one wanted to be the man at the end of the game.

Murhpy should have gone right at their PF with 4 fouls. He would have had to let him go to the rim or risk fouling out. Again, if Billy didn't tell them to do that then it's on him.

I'm happy with the year overall.

I felt the same way right after the game, especially we had a good lead going on but couldn't finish. However, despite that, I still though we did a lot of good things this year, and as I mentioned earlier, you could do a lot worse than back to back elite 8s.

Good way of putting it, Road
