Current program is better than most of the SEC right now.

Also yall would kill to get Jerod Haase as your head coach

Without question. And they're a hell of a lot more fun to watch than most of the SEC, as well.

He should definitely be on LSU's short list if Jones is canned in the near future

beating them game 1 just shows how good Auburn could have been had the team remained healthy

If you aren't trolling, you need to put down the pipe.

They've got an RPI of 75 with an overall SOS of 283, an out of conference SOS of 303, and not one single game played (much less a win) against a top-50 opponent. They're 24-5 and if they don't win the conference tourney, they aren't getting an at-large bid.

Outside of Mizzou, every single team in the SEC would have over 20 wins and close to half of them would be undefeated if they'd played UAB's schedule.

UAB is fine, but their record is inflated by a bloated, awful CUSA and a bad OOC schedule.

This. We beat them with a new roster playing their first real game together. They were ok, but not that impressive.

The OOC loss to a bad AU team might be the tipping point that keeps them from getting a bid.

Only Tennessee, Missouri and Auburn are below them on KenPom and Tennessee was well ahead of them until Punter got hurt and Auburn beat them H2H.

Better hope you win the conference tourney.

They have 0% chance at an at large bid. They have to win their conference tourney.

Then we'll just have to win the damn tourney and be the only team in the state that goes dancing.

That's fine, and a solid accomplishment. We will be jealous of it I assure you. But the idea that because UAB has 24 wins, 15 of them 200 RPI+ and 21 of them 100 RPI+, they are clearly superior to most of the SEC is..........silly.

UAB's best wins are :
@ #105 Illinois State (17-13)
vs #99 MTSU (18-9)
@ #109 Louisiana Tech (21-7)
@ #99 MTSU (18-9)

They have played 3 non-NCAAT Power 5 teams : #154 Auburn (11-18), #157 Illinois (13-17) and #96 Virginia Tech (17-13). They went 0-3.

Alabama is 5-0 vs 201+ RPI teams
UAB is 15-0 vs 201+ RPI teams

Alabama is 3-6 vs the RPI Top 50
UAB is 0-0 vs the RPI Top 50

UAB, Stephen F Austin, Hawaii, Grand Canyon are all scary teams in the NCAAT because they all know how to win. They also could get beaten by 30 in the 1st game. We don't know, because they haven't played any Top 10 seed quality teams all season.

The schedule is lousy, something UAB fans have complained about, but I do think this team is better than the one last year that won the conference tourney and upset Iowa State. I'm actually kinda nervous about the conference tourney because all too often during the Mike Davis era we'd sail through the regular season only to lose to the 12th seed in the conference. But it's in Birmingham and this is a better team, so I think we can do it.

I really didn't say all that to demean UAB at all. They are a solid team this year who has won a bunch of games, home and away, and Hasse is a really, really good coach. They will scare the crap out of somebody in the tournament. I love the way they play.

I just get tired of the constant UAB/Alabama/Auburn stuff, especially from Scarbinsky and the rest of the Birmingham media crew. And part of it is our fault for being stupid and not playing UAB in basketball, so we earn it.
