Sounds like next year they have a good young squad so theoretical hits ground running.

I think he will be a winner, but not sold on homerun potential.

I could see Texas being the soft entitle team they usually are inside of 3 years.

I also could see them. Really doing well.

Also in spirit of not trolling I know Ed O is much lower ceiling.

I'm not. 35%. He has a chance. But who knows with the way Texas does things. I thought Strong would do good.

I'm not confident in his future success. However, that doesn't mean you should have given it to Orgeron as a back up plan.

He will last 3 years.

He is basically an unknown and what I've seen from him I don't like. To win championships you have to play great defense. He plays below average. 8-4 won't cut it at texas and I'm afraid that's about his speed.

He might get away with a couple games in the Big 12 but won't win the ones that matter.

Herman will be a career 10-2 / 9-3 coach at Texas. So will coach O in BR. Both are perfect fits IMHO

King of a weak conference, get crushed in bowl games.

Basically the new R.C. Slocum.

I think he is overrated and he kisses every player on the cheek which is really weird.

He will kill it at Texas. He'll recruit monster classes and his offense is perfect for the Big 12

That was a big hire for U. of Texas. He is a very solid coach. I knew he was either going to make UT or LSU a strong program. It was a no-win for Aggie fans.

Is he better than Sumlin when you hired him?

I thought that was a boom

You don't have to play defense in the Big 12.

Texas will own the Big 12 as long as he is there. The recruiting advantage alone is insurmountable.

This is really bad news for A&M actually.

He's going to win a NC at Texas within the next four years.

I don't see anybody turning around Texas because of the culture at that university. Too much SJW liberal stuff going on there. Too many distractions.

If given enough time i think he will do very well there. His problem is that fanbase will expect results immediately and they are not a good team right now.

Honestly, I think every team in Texas (A&M included) is screwed until they start recruiting LB's from outside the state (the SE US, in particular). The proliferation of the spread offenses in Texas HS football has produced a huge growth in skill players, but LB's have dropped off precipitously.

Look at the ESPN top 30 recruits for ILB and OLB. A total of 4 players from Texas out of 60. For WR and DT QB's, that number is 18.

To me, this is one of the biggest factors in Texas colleges not being able to compete at a high level. The fallacy that Texas HS football has all the recruits you need results in these soft defenses, and t.u. is no exception.

(And Sumlin/Chief sure as hell aren't developing them once they get there.)

If that's the case, I'm shocked they canned Strong... for obvious reasons.
